    Good jib-jab guys.
I’m going to keep on reminding everyone that they need to get their hands on that Zealot Cult EP when it releases mid-October.
    Jib-jab jib-jab jib-jab.

  • Joe and 365 are massive posers because they don’t worship Blind Guardian

    • Sounds like someone got some bitter herbs on his pizza.

      • Señor Jefe El Rosa

sounds like someone doesn’t enjoy GLORY!

What up mayne? Are you gonna do a review for Prog Power? Used to go on the reg since 02 but haven’t since 08. Really wanted to make it this year cos the lineup over all the dayz was fucking good as hell but alas, moving funds.

Curious to what you thought of a few things man:
Did you go to Wed and Thurs nite shit? Cos those days grew into phase one of the fest. They used to be shits n giggles things like metal karaoke on Wed nite and really really small bands on Thurs. Plus, I never got to see the special VIP acoustic shows, or like Redemption playing a private gig and shit like that.

You mentioned running into bands and shooting the shit and hell yes this is where the festival is different. The interaction is unlike any other place. It’s like the backstage at most other fests but all four days and all over.

This does kinda offset how, let’s be honest, how small it is still though. Shit, I think it sells close to 1400 tix. That’s a stop in any city for a band like say, Bodom (?) but the interaction and fan service at Prog Power is one of a kind.

      • Probably not, I don’t have very much in the way of free time, and to properly review it and document everything would just be too much effort. I was there all four days.

Here’s Ty from Lords of the Trident documenting our trip. You can catch me licking people’s faces

TovH Radio show is the only reason I get up on Monday morning.

I guess my job is kind of an important reason, too.

  • Celtic Frosty

Joe’s Twitter feed is basically this photo over and over again, and I love it.

  • Señor Jefe El Rosa

Halford wasn’t kicked out of Priest because he was gay.

    • Yeah we moved on from that before I could ask about that

      • Señor Jefe El Rosa

He’s talked about it on more than one occasion stating he wanted to do a solo album, Priest didn’t want him too and other contractual type stuff prevented him, so he left to pursue other music endeavors for a time.

          • Señor Jefe El Rosa

I have a buddy that has work from him.

          • ME GORAK™ GORAK SMASH™

            HIM DO GOOD TATTOO!!!!!!!!!!!

    • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Yeah, they knew he was gay for years. It’s really because he wouldn’t put out to anyone else in the band. They weren’t his “type”.

  • W.

    Fight like a crow!

  • Howard Dean

I’m pretty certain Phil McSorley is legitimately mentally ill. Like “needs medical care” ill. I don’t even think it’s a matter of trying to be edgy at this point.

    Mortician >>>>>>>

Gonna spin some Hacked Up For Barbecue now and be a maladjusted weenus for a bit.

  • Señor Jefe El Rosa

Regardless of how you feel about Ripper, you can’t deny the man’s talent. He sounds like both King Diamond and Halford on this performance.

  • Señor Jefe El Rosa

  • Joaquin Stick

Even during my years of loving super proggy stuff, Spock’s Beard was a little over the top for me. It’s like the 180 proof grain alcohol of prog rock, all impurities distilled out.

  • Y’all got me excited thinking there was new Mortician for a second…

  • Señor Jefe El Rosa

    Kaliya is jamming!

    • Señor Jefe El Rosa

      And they’re local!

  • Paddlin’ Rites ov Beargod

I think, every other movie mentioned here>>>Aliens

    • I think you’re wrong, as usual.

      • Paddlin’ Rites ov Beargod

        I’m not surprised.

    • Señor Jefe El Rosa

      You are truly the worst.

      • Paddlin’ Rites ov Beargod

I did like Solid Sna… er, Kyle Reese innit.

  • Graf Orlock always has tasty movie samples. I don’t what this one is from, but I want to.

  • Paddlin’ Rites ov Beargod

    • I thought you meant the band Bright Eyes and I was like whaaaaaaaaaaaaa?

      • Paddlin’ Rites ov Beargod

I do not them. But since you’re apparently not a fan, I’d probably love them.

  • J.R.™

I have never heard anything so false as 365 saying Bright Eyes was not good. Boy posed so hard he became a mannequin. Brb getting steel

I submit this as a song opener:

MOTHERFUCKING BLIND GUARDIAN! Gotta love em! Saw them in Glasgow in April and was genuinely one of the best live bands I have ever fucking seen, second only to Iron Maiden and maybe King Crimson. This was the very first time that they had ever played in Scotland and both the band and the crowd were just fucking psyched to be there. They played for about two and a half hours then played two encores, then we shouted them back for one more and they played Barbara Ann. Good times.
