TMP: Tombs, Vektor, Anaal Nathrakh, and More!

With the Olympics now over, and the US basically more than doubling every other country in the medal count, us statesmen can be assured in our gross nationalistic pride while everyone else continues to hate us. The best news about this, of course, is that curling is only about two years away.

Brujera are touring with Cattle Decapitation this fall. CD also has a few headline dates right before this.

Experimental sludgers Tombs are going on a tour almost entirely south of the Mason Dixon line with Wolvhammer.

Vektor is going on a big ol’ US tour with Black Fast.

Trap Them have a short US tour lined up with Yautja.

We can now listen to another Devin Townsend Project song from the upcoming Transcendence, out September 9. I liked the first one better, but I am still more excited about this album than the previous few.

Dissonant death metal dudes Auroch have a song off their upcoming album, Mute Books, out for our listening pleasure. Album out October 9.

Anaal Nathrakh have a brutal new song out off their October 28 release.

  • In real sad news, Tom Searle from Architects passed away this weekend after living with cancer for 3 years, leaving the fate of the band uncertain. Read the announcement here.
  • For their new album, Opeth is setting up a few massive shows at the Sydney Opera House, Radio City Music Hall, and the SSE Arena.
  • Organ Dealer released the two songs they wrote for that Converse Rubber Tracks thing last year. Buy it for a buck on their bandcamp page.
  • Baroness will be in New Zealand and Australia in December.
  • Brutal death metal band Carnophage premiered a new song at No Clean Singing.

Since Mustained Management kicked them off the Megadrek tour, Havok should ask to join the Vektor and Black Fast tour. Even if they opened every night, at least their fans would get to see some musically relevant headliners instead of Dave & The Mustaines.

  • New band signed to Terratur Possessions. New track streaming below. Cavernous vocals and some sorrowful riffs/leads.

    • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

The vocals aren’t doing it for me. Too much low end.

      • Just curious, do you like lower death metal vocals? Or you not a fan?

        • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Hmmm, I guess it just depends. I just wasn’t feeling it with the contrast of the music. And the music was damn good.

          • I can see that. They do feel like they don’t fit in kind of. Like they were recorded overtop of the musical content instead of in it. Not sure if that makes sense or not? Like the contrast is off sort of… Music is crisp while the vocals are very murky.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

            Yup, totally makes sense. Agreed.

    • Xinen

This is great thanks, I’m going to have to pick up this and Darvaza when they release.

  • Howard Dean

Crepusculo Negro/Black Twilight Circle stalwart Shataan’s debut album “Weigh of the Wolf” (don’t ask me what that title is supposed to mean, I have no fucking idea) is being released on vinyl and CD. Looks like the vinyl might already be sold out, but if you dig vinyl and BTC black metal it’s worth pounding the proverbial pavement of the interwebs to see if you can find one. For more info:

    • Fuck yes!

    • RJA

Dark Descent has some copies too – I listened to one of the tracks, not sure how I felt about it – I guess it was alright, wasn’t super into it.

      • Lacertilian

My thoughts too after listening to the promo a few times mid-year. Volahn, Axeman etc. appeal to me much more for whatever reason.

  • Janitor Jim Duggan

More news: my album has been released finally.

  • Janitor Jim Duggan
    • Dude, this shit rocks!

    • Howard Dean

CD/vinyl/cassette planned? Also, what happened to the “Blind Rage at a Foghat Concert in Eden” track? That was my favorite!

      • Janitor Jim Duggan

I’ll have to re-record that for one of the upcoming albums.

    • Commodus, Flusher Of Worlds

Dayum, this is pretty fucking good! No kidding, I’m actually gonna toss this one over to my dad, since it definitely sounds up his alley.

  • Commodus, Flusher Of Worlds

I would’ve actually catched this one, even if it’s Sisters Of Mercy STILL touring without a new album or any hint of it for 23 years. At Least VNV Nation and Diary Of Dreams were good when I saw them, and I’d love seeing Fields Of The Nephilim. And S.P.O.C.K goes without saying.

  • Owlswald

Meshuggah needs to hurry up and release a new damn single already. All of these teaser vids are starting to make me angry.

  • TrundleTheGreat

Really bummed that Vektor/Black Fast tour isn’t hitting Philly or Jersey. Would love to see that show.

  • Waynecro

I’m pretty jazzed about the new Devin Townsend Project and Anaal Nathrakh albums, and those new Organ Dealer songs rip.
