TMP: Oathbreaker, Fen, Warbringer, and More!

It’s the first full week of a new presidency for many of us, and each day I feel the word “fact” slipping in the same way “literally” did. At least the Packers got manhandled last night, so one thing is going in the right direction. Come get some news!

Oathbreaker is touring in March with Khemmis joining on a few dates.

Chicago Open Air Fest is 9/10 lolbuttz.

Open Air

Not sure if we have any fans in the Netherlands, but I’d go to this.

Obituary premiered the first new song from their album, which is out March 17.

Here’s a new thrashy Warbringer song. Album out March 31.

More thrash? Here’s a new Havok song. Album out March 10.

  • Atmospheric black metal band Fen has a new album coming out March 17.
  • Vader is touring the US with Internal Bleeding and a few others starting in May.
  • CLRVYNT has the stream for the first Xibalba track.
  • Gojira has another Euro tour coming in March with Code Orange and Car Bomb in support.
  • Iron Maiden is touring with Ghost. I guess that makes sense? I can’t tell anymore.
  • Rock USA in Wisconsin has a similar-style lineup as the Chicago one, if you’re into those kinda things.
  • Hardcore dudes Deez Nuts have a new album coming out April 7. There’s a European tour coming soon as well.
  • For you deathcore fans, Fit For An Autopsy have a new album coming March 17.
  • Stumpfest (Portland, OR / April) has a decent lineup including Elder, Intronaut, and Windhand.
  • Mastodon posted a “teaser” for the upcoming album. You don’t get to hear any samples, if that’s what you’re looking for.
  • In not-quite-metal-tours-that-some-of-us-like-anyway news, Biffy Clyro is touring the US with O’Brother.

            You’re not areal language!

          • Señor Jefe El Rosa

            That is correct.

My Sludge/Doom kookaburra concept album will feature a 10 minute piece telling about the epic battles between the kookaburras and the drop bears.

          • Black Smallbeard

the cover just a bunch of kookaburra butts

  • Black Smallbeard

might want to correct the typos of “Fin” to “Fen.” Two very different BM bands

    either way, exciting news

    • Señor Jefe El Rosa

      Haha, wayyyy different.

      • Black Smallbeard

still, Fen is dope. Carrion Skies is one of my fav atmospheric bm records. their older albums aint bad either. looking forward to both Fen/Fin

        • Señor Jefe El Rosa

          They should tour together.

    • Joaquin Stick

Ha, I think I confused myself. I saw news about both bands, then replaced one with a better source in earsplit, but then lost the other one? Compiling news is a bitch when a vowel changes the band completely. Sorry for the false excitement. Never listened to Fin, but I like Fen quite a bit.

      • Black Smallbeard

theyre both good but like i said, different styles of bm

        • Joaquin Stick

Oh wait, I have listened to (and enjoyed) Fin! Yeah, not even close.

  • KyleJMcBride

Iron Maiden/Ghost makes perfect sense to me, therefore I’m going.

    • RJA

I think I’m going to go too – Haven’t seen Maiden in quite some time.

  • Howard Dean

The feelz every time you see “Xibalba” and you’re hoping it’s about the Mexican black metal band and not the Californian hardcore band but it never is:

    • As someone who would enjoy the style of music Xibalba plays, that track is Str8 Snooze.

    • CyberneticOrganism

  • AeonsOvChaos

Hello, some bestial music for ya, Supremative with their “Triumphant Vengeance of the Antichrist” will rise from the Toilet to spread the seed of evil:

  • RustyShackleford

Complexity Fest looks awesome. Jealous of that! Also my Mastodon hype is real af. YUP!

  • Paddlin’ Rites ov Beargod

Seeing Deez Nuts in Colon is my goal for the year.

    • Howard Dean

Deez Nuts in Colon? [insert infamous “Booya” porn clip here]

(google at your own risk and definitely not at work)

  • I am finding it hard to reconcile the fact that Pig Destroyer is playing the same festival that KISS is.

  • The Tetrachord of Archytas

Bust on no khemmis for California

    • Benjamin

Looks like they are playing all of the California dates.

      • The Tetrachord of Archytas

        This is joyous news.

The bad news is apparently my eyes need a checkin’

  • Dental_Damnation

Tfw Vader is going to Puerto Rico but not even close to the Pacific Northwest. Fml I love that new album

  • Jack Rabbit

Figures oathbreaker’s NY show is the one right after khemmis stops supporting.
But then again, Iron Maiden, so I’m not too upset

  • Waynecro

Damn, Complexity Fest looks awesome. I’d love to see Virvum, Ihsahn, Cryptopsy, Gorod, Frontierer, Agent Fresco, and Beaten to Death.

  • new Warbringer is phenom
