No dumb opening jokes this week. Just do what you can to help out with hurricane aid, including voting out the shitheads that go against relief when it’s not affecting their area.

Dang, look at this tour featuring The Black Dahlia Murder and Suffocation!

There are probably a few of you weirdos interested in this synth-something tour.

Arch Enemy premiered “The Cheese Stands Alone” …er… I mean, “The Eagle Flies Alone”. Album out September 8.

Belphegor’s new album is coming September 15, here’s a new track.

Mastodon released a new video from Emperor of Sand. It’s as goofy as you’d expect.

    Dysrhythmia mentioned they’ve been writing.
Forgot it was Monday for a whole 5 minutes after reading that, so I read it again. Diminishing returns.

  • Retchin’ Rites ov Karhu

    Scanner re-recordings are suprisingly alright-good.
Belphegor sounds better than I ever recall them sounding. Not the songs necessarily, the production.
Jag Panzer does a fine job, but you can’t one up A. Averill Nemtheanga
Arch Enemy is same as the last new song. MEH. I like the intro/chorus thing but I can’t for the life of me remember from where it’s stolen (and it def is).

    • Mosh Hoff

AE stole it either from Power Metal or (shocker) Arch Enemy.

      • Retchin’ Rites ov Karhu

Nah,I mean yes, but there’s a specific song I’m thinking of.

  • Dat Black Dahlia tour. Not that anyone ever comes to Newfoundland, but I’d sell my dick to see them, Suffocation, Exhumed, and Necrot.

Camel toe in that Arch Enemy video within the first 10 seconds.

Just for that Trivium remark, I’m gonna listen to it!!! (edit: fuck this, his vocals in the verse bloooooow)

Now, after working nights all weekend, I’m staying up all day to get back on a regular sleep pattern. Final Fantasy IX and death metal all day, mang.

  • Janitor Jim Duggan

More news you can use: Whitechapel announced a tour with Carnifex and Rings Of Saturn. It’s coming to my area and I’m so going.

    • Sir Ukkometso The Based

Three bad bands for the price of one. Nice.

  • GoatForest

Arch Enemy has fallen a long way from the days of Wages of Sin.

    • Man, I used to spin so much this DVD. I bought it pirated on my hometown and I played it so many times it is all scratched. I still have it on my home. Good times.

    • TheGranulatingDarkSatanicMilfs

Arch Enemy has fallen a long way from the days of Black Earth

      • GoatForest

        That too.

        • TheGranulatingDarkSatanicMilfs

Was never much of a fan of Wages Of Sin. I bought it back in early 2003 because I bought into the hype of a death metal band having a sexy female singer. It bored me really quick. I actually ended up enjoying the bonus CD that came with it a lot more. Black Earth is in my humble opinion the only worthwhile Arch Enemy album

          • GoatForest

I can’t quite agree there. The music was really good on Black Earth, for sure, but I Gossow is a much better vocalist than Liiva. Though, I did really like his work in Carnage.

          • TheGranulatingDarkSatanicMilfs

I never thought of either of them as particularly great vocalists. Liiva was like a mediocre version of LG Petrov, while Gossow was like a mediocre version of Jeff Walker. Both are serviceable, I guess, but the latter did have the advantage of being physically attractive, which of course translated into better coverage for the band

Also, wasn’t Matt Karki from Dismember the singer in Carnage?

          • GoatForest

Huh, maybe I did remember that incorrectly. I need to look that up.

  • Brutalist_Receptacle

Alex: “And the answer is: Harms Way.”
Brutalist Receptacle: “What is living here in SE Texas, Alex?”

    • Where you at?

      • Brutalist_Receptacle

We are safe in Huntsville, Prison City, north of Houston. Just about 20 inches of rain. You alright?

        • 11 inches of rain and minor falling tree damage. But no water in my house, so I’d say we were lucky. Currently taking in my lady’s family from Victoria. Their homes were not so lucky.

I watched that Arch Enemy video on mute with this playing in the background for full eagle soaring effect:

  • Lol, is Youtube translating video titles on Spanish?

  • Kyle Reese

    I’ll take the mall metal.
