Finally, I can put together the news on Sunday afternoon while not watching golf. Come off your first Sunday buzz and catch up on the news. Stay dry, our Floridian friends.

Look out for a new Electric Wizard in November. Here’s the first track.

Here’s another new Primitive Man track.

Sorta djenty prog band Good Tiger released a new track. Album not out until February.

And here are some new videos from:

  • thx for that Cyhra link. i needed a good cringe this morning.
(i made it 1:17 into the song. can U beat my record?)

    • BobLoblaw

Shoulda held out, theres some wonderful emotion coming off the guitarist and bassist (bassist may not know where he is) and some edge of your seat action. I sat through all 12 chapters of Trapped in the Closet by R.Kelly so this was a cake walk.

    • Sir Ukkometso The Based

I had to stop when the guitars started.

      • BobLoblaw

Almost didnt make it past the banner image at the top of the page. Glad I did.

    • Al Bvndy

No I can’t. 49 seconds in I’m thinking, ‘this sounds like a more Trad sounding Reckless Love’, which then reminded me of the existence of Reckless Love…
      Bad times.

    • I stopped until the vocalist started. Now I know In Flames was already doomed.

  • One time my music teacher in high school was trying to make a joke about the type of (in his opinion) shit we all listened to, and said “Cannonball Guitar Rock Corpse” when trying to make reference to Cannibal Corpse.

    • Howard Dean

I’d listen to Cannonball Guitar Rock Corpse.

Motherfucking death metal bands kidnapping people now. Life imitating art imitating life. Must be material for their next album, “Felonility.”

    • more beer

If they are really kidnappers, they are really bad kidnappers. No ransom demands, she was able to identify them all, shouldn’t they have concealed their identities? Wouldn’t they have at least held her with the luggage under the bus, so there would be no more witnesses? These are just basic kidnapping techniques.

    • Morbidly Obese Angel

So guilty until proven innocent? Is that how this works now?

      • Howard Dean

No, this is called absurd humor. That’s how this works.

First spin of new Electric Wizard song: decent, but I’m not shitting my pants. Would really like to see them go back to a Come My Fanatics or Dopethrone sound (ain’t gonna happen, but a man can dream), or at the very least capture some of that Witchcult Today magic (their last really good album, in my opinion).

Black Masses was decent, but Time to Die was really lame and boring. Hoping for an improvement over that shitpile. I’m praying for a Witchcult-esque return. I’d be happy with an album that has a few tracks like Dunwich, Satanic Rites of Drugula, or Torquemada 71.

    • Retchin’ Rites ov Karhu

Kinda bothered myself that it just feels like a lazily ripped from an old Black Sabbath riff demo, without much effort and more chugs, though I do dig the fact they have brought back some groove of yore.

      • drug_genosh

have you heard their self titled? its sounds like this albeit with a different lineup. so far im pumped on this one more than that last snooze fezzzzzzzzzzzzzz

        • Retchin’ Rites ov Karhu

Heard and loved, this feels more a lazy Sabbath riff-demo re-hash than any song on that ever did.

          • drug_genosh

Oh well, I guess we have to do that thing where we “agree to disagree”. I think my expectations might just be low because I found it enjoyable

          • Retchin’ Rites ov Karhu

If the whole album’s gonna be this level, it’s gonna be better than the last two. I guess that’s something.

          • drug_genosh

            Silver linings, my man

    • TheGranulatingDarkSatanicMilfs

I once had a bad trip while listening to Torquemada 71. It was the best bad trip I’ve ever had

    • KJM, Anla’Shok

The new song is kinda meh.

  • I listened to that Entheos track on that stupid Vevo website and it started autoplaying Despacito directly after. As if Monday could get any worse.

    • Brutalist_Receptacle

Something something Houston and the Houston Texans…

  • “Come off your first Sunday buzz and catch up on the news.”

    LOL

    GL

  • I’d like to leave this little gem right here:

    *BTW the song if banging.

  • The Tetrachord of Archytas

Black Queen is a couple years old I think

  • KJM, Anla’Shok

There’s definitely more to that kidnapping story than meets the eye. Why would any band risk their careers and freedom like that?

    • TheGranulatingDarkSatanicMilfs

I get the feeling all charges will be dismissed eventually. The same thing happened to Satyricon back in 2004 when they were accused of rape.

    • Morbidly Obese Angel

From what I’ve read on the matter, the girl who was supposedly kidnapped is underage and it’s her parents that are pressing charges. Likely just looking for big ol’ cash settlement. That’s my take on it anyways

  • Jeff Manteiga

The generic electronic bit at the beginning of that Cyhra song sounds like the hype music before a breaking news story.
