As of about noon on Sunday I haven’t yet been consumed by the snow, but it’s coming down hard still, so if you don’t hear from me, this news roundup may be my last.

Cryptopsy, Decrepit Birth, and a bunch of other people are touring.
Cryptopsy

Baring Teeth has a few East Coast dates coming up.

Baring Teeth

I am a few days late on this one, but here are some Seeker dates.

Seeker

UK kinda djenty progressive metal band SikTh released a new song. I don’t really like it.

French castle-nerds Darkenhold released a new track from their upcoming album.

  • Lacertilian

    MAMMOFFFFFF GRINDAAHHHHHH

  • Howard Dean
  • Rain Poncho W.

That Behemoth picture was like the 2nd or third image I saw the other day when getting on the internet because Ted Nu-Djent tagged me. Thanks Ted. i hope you get stung by a gympie gympie tree.

  • Rick Chard

    Someone needs a new OBGYN.

  • Brutalist_Receptacle

BUT WILL I NEED A SWEATAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • RustyShackleford

PRONG?!?! I’m ready to SNAP MY FINGERS and SNAP MY NECK! Yep!

    • tigeraid

That opening beat tho…. gotta admit it’s catchy as fuck.

Justin Credible used a cover of it in ECW!

      • Señor Jefe El Rosa

Prong in general is pretty catchy, good jams.

      • Sid Vicious Promos

It’s not just the greatest, it’s not just the best, it’s Justin Credible.

Black and Blue Bowl is a pretty big hardcore festival usually. I am sure more bands will be announced. If I still lived in New York I would go just for Token Entry and Rest in Pieces. two OG NYHC bands. With Rest in Pieces also being a a Sick Of IT All side project. Who probably haven’t played together in 25 years.

    • Joaquin Stick

Thanks for providing more info! I tried to figure it all out briefly, but their social media game is lacking.

      • more beer

No problem. That doesn’t surprise me at all. Black and Blue Productions is a DMS production company. They put this on every year. It used to be called the Super Bowl of Hardcore. Here this Rest in Pieces is one of my favorite NYHC albums of all time. It is a quick listen coming in at 22 minutes.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-RoRBpk5MQ

    • Sid Vicious Promos

Is that the one at Webster Hall? I would so go to that as I like Webster Hall. I’ve been there with my sister before.

      • more beer

Yes it is at Webster Hall. I am not sure that this is a show for you. You might want to sit this one out. As it is usually a pretty rough show.

        • Sid Vicious Promos

I’ve seen Hatebreed before and that pit was crazy enough. I’ll probably not go as I don’t want someone to moonsault off the balcony and land on me.

          • more beer

This show will make that Hatebreed pit, look like that abortion of a pit on stage with Metallica and GaGa last night.

          • Sid Vicious Promos

Well that’s inconvenient. That may be too extreme for me.

  • frozengoatsheadupanunsarse

Yup, Mammoth Fest sure has some crappy site design. I note the presence of Rotting Christ, Tsjuder and Necronautical though, so it seems promising. Excited for new Fen and Diablo Swing Orchestra!

Oh, and for any UK cats near London, the day splits for Incineration Festival in May are out. Pretty cool line up, though I’m displeased by A Forest of Stars clashing with Sodom.

    • Joaquin Stick

      New Fen is SO GOOD.

  • Sid Vicious Promos

I feel like a piece of news is missing. Where’s the Metallica tour announcement?

    • Joaquin Stick

I guess it was made official this morning? There were rumors early last week.

      • Sid Vicious Promos

        It was.

    • KyleJMcBride

You can read about that on 10,000,000 other sites.

      • Sid Vicious Promos

That is true. I’m more excited to possibly go to Defenders Of The Old fest considering Ashbury is on it.

        • KyleJMcBride

I would actually go to the Metallica show if there were better support bands touring with them.

          • Joaquin Stick

You mean A7X isn’t good enough for you? I hear they are playing all their shows in 3D now.

          • KyleJMcBride

            IMAX Holo-3D at that.

          • Sid Vicious Promos

I saw Volbeat with Trivium back in 2014. Volbeat and Trivium weren’t bad. The opener Digital Summer was.

          • KyleJMcBride

I don’t care for any of those bands.

          • CyberneticOrganism

lol Digital Summer sounds like a fake band made up for an iphone commercial

          • Sir Ukkometso The Based

            Or a better lead band…

          • KyleJMcBride

Well, I am seeing Maiden this Summer.

          • Sir Ukkometso The Based

Hot take: never really cared that much about Maiden.

          • KyleJMcBride

ouch, gonna burn myself on that take.

          • Sir Ukkometso The Based

It’s so hot you could blaze it

          • KyleJMcBride

            420YOLOFGGT

          • Paddlin’ Rites ov Beargod

            Blaze… Bayley, it?

          • Sir Ukkometso The Based

THE BEST Maiden singer. Dickinson sucks dicks compared to him!

          • Depechemodeisgangsta

I never seen Metallica live, so i’m planning to go to the Miami Show, but it looks like not Gojira for that date, so i will just show up late for Metallica, since i’m not a fan of Volbeat or Avenged.

          • KyleJMcBride

I’ve seen Metallica 6 times so I’m good with that.

          • Depechemodeisgangsta

I don’t travel to go see bands out of state, so this might be the best chance, and IDK how long those guys will keep touring, so hopefully get that concert, out of bucket list, also Stadium about 15 minutes from my work, so i can go to gym, come back to work, park there, and take Uber, that way i don’t have to pay a ridiculous 20-30$ parking.

        • Señor Jefe El Rosa

          Ashbury>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • Primordial Chaos

Hello, some other news to share:

ALTARAGE: They are now included in the Season Of Mist’s roster, new album this year!

PILLORIAN: The new band “born from the ashes of Agalloch” has a new song via Invisible oranges called “Archaean Divinity”

That’s all folks, Ah, that picture by Behemoth shows the truth about giving birth, immaculate conception is pure bullshit and reminds me the opening line from the song “Blow Your Trumpet Gabriel” who is “I saw the virgins cunt spawning forth the snake”

    • Joaquin Stick

Here’s a link to that Pillorian that came out this morning. It’s… fine I guess. Not immediately hooked, but we’ll see.
      http://www.invisibleoranges.com/pillorian-archaean-divinity-premiere/

      • Primordial Chaos

Yeah, I will give a listen to the album, I’m pretty curious but not very hooked too, I mean, sounds solid but we’ll see indeed!

  • Cryptopsy is doing None So Vile in its entirety?! Sign me the fuck up.

    • more beer

And it is at the Roxy. Which means I can walk to this show.

      • And will be cheap as fuck. I’m okay with this. You’re not that into tech death if I remember rightly, yeah? Besides the headliner obviously.

        • FrankWhiteKingOfNY

I think even people not into tech death are into NSV.

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkNbTS7uhLE

          • Just so, comrade.

          • Señor Jefe El Rosa

            Dude, Saor rules.

          • FrankWhiteKingOfNY

            I figured you’d like it.

          • Señor Jefe El Rosa

            Thanks man 🙂

        • more beer

Not so much into tech death is correct. But yea the headliner. I like the guys from Swinging Noose Productions. Who put on the shows there and try to support their events.

  • Guacamole Jim

That Sikth song opens up pretty cool, and then takes a shit all over itself and ends up in a dumpster fire.

    http://i.imgur.com/EiS44NW.gif

    • Joaquin Stick

Goddamn that is a good gif.

      • KyleJMcBride

        Agreed.

    • Owlswald

It’s a little messy but main riff and last 2 minutes are choice. Since there is so much going on, it usually takes me at least a couple listens to really grasp what’s going on in their songs.

    • Crocodylus★Pontifex

That is a good visual of my experience with that song.

  • TheGranulatingDarkSatanicMilfs

    “Colourful hair band Arch Enemy”

    I lol’ed. Thanks, Joaquin

    • Joaquin Stick

It’s the only thing I know about them tbh.

      • TheGranulatingDarkSatanicMilfs

That’s okay. I’ve always said that if you own a copy of Carcass’ Heartwork, you don’t need any Arch Enemy. All of their albums are basically lesser versions of Heartwork

        • Good point, I hadn’t considered that.

          • TheGranulatingDarkSatanicMilfs

And now that we have Surgical Steel, there’s even less reason to bother with Arch Enemy

Unless you absolutely need pretty girls in your death metal, of course

  • HessianHunter

This new Sikth does not jam very hard at all. :'(

  • Owlswald

The latest Darkest Hour track isn’t bad, imo.

  • Waynecro

Damn, I’d really like to go to that Devastation on the Nation tour. Also, GOD DETHRONED!!!

  • Some Guy

Pretty pumped to hear news about Behemoth and Mammoth Grinder.

Funny thing, yesterday I was wondering where God Dethroned went because I kinda noticed there hasn’t been anything new from them in awhile and here they are promising new material.

I kinda hope Jeff Loomis gets to make a lot of contributions with the songwriting in Arch Enemy.I also wouldn’t mind if they started maybe writing about some new subject matter lyrically instead of anarchy, tyrants, resistance, etc. Also, they really do have some of the most colorful groups of hair outside of nu-metal.
I’ll also have to give the new Prong and Fen a chance when they release.

  • Guppusmaximus

Oddly enough, the latest album from SOEN is what I thought Opeth should’ve released. Fantastic album.

    • Joaquin Stick

      New Soen is good Soen!
