This Toilet Tuesday (9/30/14)

I’m sure most of you are familiar with the concept of kaiten-zushi, if not necessarily the term. It’s a type of sushi restaurant where you sit at a table next to a conveyor belt that sends around small plates of sushi, and you can grab whatever you want from it. You always eat about twenty plates, spending way too much money and too many hours on the toilet, holding your stomach in pain as guilt becomes regret. Now imagine this experience without the regret: the sushi is top-class, it’s relatively inexpensive, and you get to just stick your mouth at the end of the belt without having to go to the trouble of grabbing plates. You expect the usual raging bowel rejection, but it never comes. The stars align in the sky and you drop the perfect deuce. It’s so good you feel like you need a cigarette when you’re done. It’s a clean wipe. You stand up to flush, but can only gaze in wonder and awe at this Golden Child of food babies you have just birthed. As a pale light shines from the sky and you watch your beautiful creation ascend to the heavens, you know that everything is going to be better from now on. This week is like that perfect shit; there’s a ton of new music, it’s almost all good, and it marks the beginning of at least a few weeks of excellent releases. Plus, we get to welcome Stockhausen and Leif Bearikson to the TTT crew! So without further ado, here’s the metal. -Spear

Necroholocaust – Holocaustic Goat Metal (Iron Bonehead) [Holocaustic Goat Metal]

Listen to “Sadomasochrist”

After almost a decade of demos and splits, Canada’s most unholy purveyors of Goat Metal are finally releasing their first full length. What is goat metal you ask? Fuck if I know, but it sounds blackened, filthy and like it’s ready to crucify your ears. Stream “Sadomasochrist” and follow the path of the goat. (Leif Bearikson)

fuck the facts

Fuck the Facts – Abandoned (Noise Salvation) [Grindcore/Experimental]

I’m only roughly 15 years late to the Fuck the Facts party, but better late than murdered on the way there as they say. The band’s new EP, Abandoned, is 3 tracks utterly crushing chaos that will leave you utterly faceless. Stream the EP over at Exclaim while I try to get caught up on all of this fact fucking. (Leif Bearikson)

die choking

Die Choking – II (Independent) [Grindcore]

Listen to “Non-Yielder”

You should be aware that I like grind. Blasting, furious, brutal grind is better than most things at getting me pumped (with the exception of coffee and Manowar). I also appreciate the fact that a lot of grind is totally lacking in pretense. If you love grind, you should totally know what to expect when you press play on “Non-Yielder” by Die Choking. This is bone-breaking, bludgeoning, and brisk brutality. I wouldn’t have it any other way. (W.)

ritual of flesh

Ritual of Flesh – Splatter Grind Abortion (Rotten Roll Rex) [Goregrind]

Listen to “Cocaine Drift”

It’s interesting listening to this track after the one by Die Choking. This is equally brutal and guttural, but there’s more a slam influence than in “Non-Yielder.” Ritual of Flesh give “Cocain Drift” a bit more room to breathe and batter, and as a result are able to inject a little more sonic diversity into their grindy concoction. Both songs are great, but if you’re a fan of “bree brees” and trash-can snares, this one may be more your speed. (W.)

black crown initiate

Black Crown Initiate – The Wreckage of Stars (eOne Heavy) [Progressive Death Metal]

Listen to “The Great Mistake,” “Withering Waves”

Long ago, two giant landmasses named Good Songwriting and Progressive Sensibilities drifted together through Death Metal Ocean, and they collided with great force. A mountain range formed, and at the highest peak, this album awaits. Climb, stranger, and bask in what greets you there. (Stockhausen)

temple of void

Temple of Void Of Terror and the Supernatural (Naturmacht) [Blackened Death]

Listen to “Savage Howl”

This debut album from doomy death metallers Temple of Void seems very promising. Monstrous vocals churn like a dark cloud over steady, yet captivating riffs that don’t overstay their welcome. The pacing of these tunes is spot on for those who like a doomy feel, but not falling asleep because of an album. (Stockhausen)

  • I really want to listen to the new Audrey Horne. If only there was a respectable place to do so.

    • Edward Meehan

Audrey Horne (in Twin Peaks) >>>>>>>>>>>>

    • I’m not usually one for that type of music, but that video that was posted a while back was actually a pretty good song, I’m interested in hearing the rest of that album now.

      • I only really liked two songs off their last album, but I’m gonna give this one a chance anyway.

        • W.

That’s how I felt about it.

  • I am, as always, so far behind on my listening.

  • Tyree

The first 3 bands already got me giggity.

  • Scrimm

Temple of the Void is sounding pretty good. Also liking the new Internal Bleeding.

      Co-signing on ToV

IB are on the suffocation tour, but in canada katakylsm are opening it being their home country which means less suffocation no doubt.

      • Scrimm

IB were the first death metal band I saw live. Been thinking about catching that tour for them and Pyrexia. Seen the other bands several times. But I hate the venue and some people I really don’t feel like dealing with will surely be there. Plus King Diamond is a couple weeks after and I’d much rather spend my money on that.

yea i know what you mean. I haven’t lived in the city i am going to the concert in ten years. So i don’t know who will be there, there are a few people i would hope to see, but a decade is along time and most have probably moved on or don’t listen to metal anymore. I have to drive about an hour and 20 minutes to get there. It’s a city of about 150, 000, certainly no metropolis and the shows are far and few between. I have been to only 3 shows in 10 years, def leppard (hahahhahh), roger waters (dark side of the moon and the wall) and rush. I had to travel along ways for the waters shows. I feel more comfortable at large arenas than i do at small clubs. So i am kind of forcing myself to go to some shows without getting a panic attack. Pretty crazy, but that’s what happens when a person has a nervous breakdown. Just don’t want to face anyone. Actually talking to people about music on here has inspired me to get back out and see some live bands which i always enjoyed more than anything. King Diamond, yea , that would be something to see. I wonder if he plays any mercyful fate songs ? Probably not since the KD catalog is pretty large.

          • Scrimm

I hear you man just thinking about running into a couple people almost makes me panic hahaha. exes mostly, but there are a few others. I don’t go to many myself anymore and we don’t play shows t the moment, not sure if we even will. We have to travel a couple hours to see King but it’s well worth it. I think he busted out come to the sabbath from MF but that was it.

Yea, meant to ask how your music is going, do you have any up on the net ? Lots of great bands are studio only.

          • Scrimm

Slowly but surely. I’m doing the bass tracks now. I put up one of the drum takes with scratch guitar tracks from the current recording(the final drums are a little different). I also put up some stuff from the much more for fun side project we recorded a while ago.

  • Fuck the Facts is so good.

    this new Decapitated is decent

    • Spear

I wasn’t terribly enthralled by it. I’ll just go jam Winds of Creation for the nth time.

a few more turns of it have resulted in yawns.

  • Scrimm

    • Elite Extremophile

      That’s just adorable.

      • Scrimm

Thought people here would like it.

    • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

That cat is not wearing a bullet belt. Fucking poser.

      • Janitor Jim Dvggan

This is adorable. I don’t care if the cat is a poser, it’s just that this cat is so adorable.

        • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

So, what are you really trying to tell me?

          • Janitor Jim Dvggan

It doesn’t matter if the cat is a poser because this is so adorable that it could warm anyone’s heart.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

            So, it’s adorable?

          • Janitor Jim Dvggan

Yes. That’s what I’ve been trying to say.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Hmmm. I just don’t get it. Oh well.

          • Tyree

these canadian bums stole their name from the real slaughter !

          • Tyree

            can’t resist this, too easy.

    • Cock ov Steele

He may be a poser, but he’s a cute little poser.

  • Tyree
  • Come The Dawn <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

    • Janitor Jim Dvggan

I hate them as much as any guitarist who calls themself Atomik Tommy M. Fuck him and his album with the fake UFO called Misdemeanor. I expected better of you Phil, I expected much better than what you made. Misdemeanor makes Destiny by Saxon look good and I hate that album so much.

rock the nations was no heck either. Although i really enjoyed innocence is no excuse and back on the streets was a great single and video.

really good video. trust the king.

  • Anyone heard that 1349 yet? And if so, what’d you think?

    • yup, heard it 2-3 times. i like it! not as scary as Demonoir, not as hard-hitting as Hellfire, but solid

    • you need a share link?

      • I’ve got it, I just haven’t had a chance to listen yet. Thanks

    • Nordling Rites Ov Karhu

It’s their best, not that I would have ever liked any black metal that they’ve done before. It’s a bit different without really sounding different

    • Janitor Jim Dvggan

I’ve never been a fan of theirs. If it’s really that good I would listen to it but I probably won’t listen to it as it’s probably not that good.

      • The Satan Ov Hell

        It is that good, heathen!

        • Janitor Jim Dvggan

I guess I will give it a listen.

          The mighty DIO !

          RJD > crom

  • Janitor Jim Dvggan

I listened to the Electric Wizard album as soon as it was streaming. That is my new pick for album of the year. I don’t think At The Gates or even the new Godflesh album will usurp that position from them.

    • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

What the fuck do you know?

      • Janitor Jim Dvggan

I know a lot you douche. I have a very high IQ and I listened to it and enjoyed it.

        • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Oh, so you’re smart? What does that mean?

          • Dude cut it out, enough is enough.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

            Is it? Seacrest out……………………………………..

    • Death

The new Godlfesh is pretty darn good though.

      • Janitor Jim Dvggan

I listened to it and it is second to the Electric Wizard album moving The Satanist down to third.

        • Death

The Satanist has dropped from the top 10 for me. It’s quite overrated and there are so many better albums this yea.

          • Virgil the Ghost Poet

Are the Swans still #1 for you?

      • Virgil the Ghost Poet

I ordered my 2 CD version from Japan so hopefully I’ll get it before Christmas.

    • Virgil the Ghost Poet

I already have Godflesh penciled in as my album of the year and I haven’t listened to it yet. Its in the mail. New Danzig album of the year for 2015 and new Tool album of the year for 2016.

      • Janitor Jim Dvggan

There’s a new Danzig album coming out? I still won’t forgive him for Blackacidevil because that was one of the worst albums I have ever heard. Also the fact he released that album on the Disney record label was just shameful.

        • Virgil the Ghost Poet

He has 2 CDs coming out. One his his covers CD and another is new material. He has Tommy Victor from Prong and I believe Johnny Kelly from TypeO on drums. I thought they would be released this year but I read next spring.
          I like Danzig 5. I know Conan hates it but I don’t.

I am thinking the new exodus and obituary might be in the mix. If jus hadn’t bad mouthed lee dorrian so much i might have given the new album a chance, but i hate negative shit like that especially when promoting a new album.

    • Janitor Jim Dvggan

This album cover looks terrible but I’m sure the album can’t be as bad as the cover.

      • You’re right, it’s probably worse.

        • Janitor Jim Dvggan

I never liked this band. My cousin does but I see no point in their existing. The only reason they got anywhere is because the band is led by two extremely attractive women. I don’t consider them attractive but I’m sure other people do.

          • It’s like the day shift at a strip club.

          • Janitor Jim Dvggan

I agree. This band is proof that sex can sell anything. Just take one part crappy band with two parts hot women and you have a successful band.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

You want to fuck them so bad, you windbag of shit.

          • Janitor Jim Dvggan

No, you are wrong. I have standards which you appear to not have.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

What standards is that? Rope and candy?

          • crazytaco_12

Wow dude, way to be a complete dick. I know JJD has said before he has some sort of social disorder(s), so forgive him for maybe saying some things you don’t like (god forbid!). Even if he didn’t, saying stuff like that and patronizing another person isn’t funny or cool, it’s just tasteless and mean.

          • Virgil the Ghost Poet

            Well said sir.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

            Calm the fuck down.

      • Tyree

        • Cock ov Steele

Coincidence, I was watching big Trouble in Little China the other day.

          • Tyree

            It never gets old.

          • Scrimm

I have a copy at home and at the rehearsal studio.

Russell is the new burt reynolds.

      • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

It is, because it’s a shit band, with a shit cover.

      • Rob M

Im willing to go on record that its probably much worse

      • Cory John William Kamermans

They are Five Finger Death Punch with two sets of tits and a shitload of manic panic and bad make-up. if your gonna wear make-up on stage for fucksakes take more then five seconds to smear it on your face.

        • Janitor Jim Dvggan

          That sounds terrible.

  • I said it once, I’ll say it again: Black Crown Initiate = my album of the year so far!

  • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Temple of Void is another good Michigan band. I still have their demo sitting around somewhere.

    • Rob M

agreed..decent pedigree too with the vocalist playing guitar in Acid Witch

      • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Yup, he’s a cool dude to boot!

  • Renan Ribeiro

Fuck the fact that NPR blocked the Electric Wizard stream in my country.

  • Renan Ribeiro

I’m 2 and a half minutes into the Fuck the Facts release and am PUMPED

  • IronLawnmower

Holocaustic Goat Metal is making me very happy in my downstairs area.

  • Howard Dean

What a massive release day! Listen to death metal! Byah!

  • Rob M

    New Execration should be awesome

I’m kissing that Temple of Void…..

  • Rob M

…people need to check out that Sempiternal Dusk album as well…members of Aldebaran and Shroud of the Heretic are involved

  • JWG

From what I had heard, that Alunah album is very very good. I’m looking for it now while I go on a bit of a record-binge.

  • Count_Breznak

Khold Khold Khold Khold…fuck that video is awful. It’s like Satyricon reenacting Call of the Wintermoon. Song is great tho.

  • Xan

The band name Excel makes me wish for a band who’s primary lyric theme is spreadsheets.

  • Xan

I might buy that Church of Void album based on the album cover alone.
