Greetings, Toileters, and welcome to another This Toilet Tuesday! It’s getting difficult to stay both grim and frostbitten with the increasingly pleasant weather, which probably accounts for the comparatively light week we’ve got on our hands. Guess I’ll have to settle for grim and sunburned. Regardless, W, Jom Pooterson, and I have snagged a couple of the standouts for your listening pleasure. It’s gonna get heavy.

primitive bastard

Primitive Man/Sea Bastard – Primitive Man/Sea Bastard (split- Dry Cough Records) [Hate]
Stream

Slow. Hateful. Angry azz fUk. What else did you expect from a Primitive Man split? Sunshine? Rainbows? Dragon fornication? NO. The Colorado based doom/sludge/noise trio is back with a duo of plodding dirges guaranteed to make you second guess all of your life’s happiest moments. Pure hatred, my friends. But let’s not forget Sea Bastard’s contribution to this release. “The Hermit” is twenty more minutes of down-tempo scorn, this time with a slowly developing crescendo peaking mid-track, contrasting nicely to Primitive Man’s consistent, sluggish pace. 3/7/16 (Jom Pootersan)

sarke

Sarke – Bogefod (Indie Recordings) [Black/Thrash]
Listen to “Alternation”

Are you craving mid-paced black metal with rock solid riffs and Nocturno Culto on throat-splitting vocals? Look no further than Sarke. “Alternation” is the band’s second single for their fourth full-length, and it bodes well for Bogefod. Throughout the course of this short track, the primary riff mutates and sputters, changing pace and angle periodically, but it always keeps your head bobbing in a constant nod. I’m rockin’. FFO: Keep of Kalessin, Aura Noir, Darkthrone 3/11/16 (W.)

panoptifluster

Waldgeflüster/Panopticon – Waldgeflüster/Panopticon (split- Nordvis Produktion) [Black Metal]
Listen to “Der Traumschänder” (Waldgeflüster)

Fans of sylvan ‘n’ stuff black metal take note! This new split between Waldgeflüster and Panopticon is just what your bark-embossed heart is craving. I can only account for the first Waldgeflüster track, but its dream-like riffs, arboreal screams, and owl-like patience bode well for the remainder of this split. Plus, just look at that album art. If it doesn’t scream “moment of quiet contemplation in the woods while the spiritual black metal riffs, folksy melodies, and ruinous drums create the perfect soundtrack to mankind’s capitulation to Mother Nature,” I don’t know what does. FFO: Downfall of Nur, Selvans, Antlers 3/11/16 (W.)

northless

Northless – Cold Migration (Triple Eye Industries) [Sludge]
Listen to “The Curse of Being”

GUH. Let me reiterate: GUUHHHHH. Northless want to remind you that humanity is complete garbage, and they do it with music as heavy as the message. Each torturous scream on “The Curse of Being,” accented by a burst of sound from the band, feels like an admonishment hammered into your soul. The guitar and bass are as filthy as the shit you surround your worthless being with. Spin Cold Migration and remember that you are nothing. 3/11/16 (Spear)

  • Boss the Ross

I forgot Skuggsja was coming out this week. What I’ve heard sounds really cool.
And nice weather my behind, it looks like shit out there.

    • Spear

The frozen wasteland of western WI has thawed out almost completely, and my view of the world only extends as far as my lawn, ergo it’s nice everywhere. (And yeah, that Skuggsja is really cool)

      • Boss the Ross

Fair enough. I’m looking at green skies full of storm clouds and tornado warnings today.

I might have to give in and buy it

        • Spear

          Do it!

  • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

    Sarke does nothing for me.

    • Dubs

Eh, this week is pretty light on releases.

      • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Agreed. I was just stating about the band in general. Probably should have been more clear.

    • When I saw them at MDF, Nocturno Culto was texting on his phone while performing. He looked like he didn’t want to be there.

      • Dubs

        Wow

      • Boss the Ross

        Seriously? That’s shitty

        • Randell Thor can back me up on this one. No joke.

          • Yep, I was only in the pit because these drunk dudes kept giving me beer when I moshed with them

          • Wow, surprised that beer didn’t spill. That’s impressive.

          • Theirs did. Everywhere

          • Fuck, when Tankard played. It was a rain storm of beer.

          • I’d be disappointed if it wasn’t

          • Exactly. I was double fisting for that one. He he.

      • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

HAHAHAHA. That’s actually awesome and horrible. Fuck playing live.

      • Spear

How big of a fucking knob do you have to be to NOT be losing your shit playing MDF?

      • Paddlin’ Rites ov Beargod

        When did they play MDF?

        • Rob M

          2014

  • This split just came out, I’ve been jamming this morning and it absolutely slays! Super depraved shit! Impurity (Brazil) and Sex Messiah (Japan) unite for one nasty split.

    https://nuclearwarnowproductions.bandcamp.com/album/impurity-sex-messiah

Song from the upcoming Hunok album also:

    https://soundcloud.com/hunok/had-r-mp3

    • This was released in February, but I figured I’d share as well. Raw and ripping black metal from Chile.

      https://defiledlight.bandcamp.com/album/chaos-ritual

    • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

This Hunok song is rad. Excellent riffs.

      • Indeed, looking forward to this one. This is their first full-length in 16 years as a band.

        • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Fuck, never even heard of them.

          • I just recently heard of them, with the hype for the full-length and all. Killer band! I’m still digging through all of their splits and demos.

  • COAL ROLL

    Thank you!

  • Janitor Jim Duggan

Well I have to pick up the new Diamond Head now.

  • COAL ROLL

    I really like Black/Thrash

    • Stanley

New Ragehammer coming in April. I can’t remember which one of you turned me onto them, but they do in fact slay.

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CXsoXKsBjk

      • Boss the Ross

        That name is awesome
Also, Ranger has been kicking my ass this morning, thanks!

        • Rob M

I like Ranger, but man I thought they fell apart with that full length

          • Boss the Ross

I haven’t listened to that just yet. I’ve listened to Knights of Darkness 3 times though…

          • Paddlin’ Rites ov Beargod

KoD is Ranger at the top of their game, the full-length had the songs, but the execution…

          • Boss the Ross

            Hmm, good to know.

          • Paddlin’ Rites ov Beargod

Stanley would disagree with me though.

          • Boss the Ross

Ha, okay. I’ll give it a listen when i get the chance. I really like the song he submitted for Solo ov the Year.

          • Rob M

Definitely check it…Ive seen more than a couple people who think pretty highly of it. It just didnt come together for me

          • Boss the Ross

            Right on

          • Stanley

I would, but not strongly. I feel like the production on the earlier ones was the weakness. Maybe too over the top for speed metal. Maybe they went to far in the other direction on the new one. Either way, the songs are good on all of their releases.

      • COAL ROLL

Prob Boss the Ross..but this is great

        • Boss the Ross

Though i do enjoy the credit, it is not mine to claim. I thought Stanley was the one that introduced me a while back.

  • No new Panopticon songs really gets my disappoint feels all in a bunch :/

    GL

    • DVRKBEVRD

well, suck it up! he has a p big catalogue

    • Pagliacci is Kvlt

“Hakon” is new, isnt it? Plus the snippet I heard of Waldgefluster covering “Norwegian Nights” is worth the price of admission alone though.

  • Guacamole Jim

As awesome as all the good new music is, the lolbuttz never fails to disappoint. This shit is unbelievable.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbdRRp7eRDA

    • Janitor Jim Duggan

      It sounds awful.

    • Eliza

      I don’t even ….

    • Maik Beninton™

When you wake up drunk and remember that you had to shoot a video today.

    • Boss the Ross

I was honestly hoping for something really good with that song title. Disappointed.

    • The Tetrachord of Archytas

Probably better with luck if this lady was their vocalist

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPndWUnl78M

  • Guacamole Jim

That Primitive Man/Seabeast split is awesome.

    • Guacamole Jim

      Derp — Sea Bastard.

      I accept my shame.

      • BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
        HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSS

        🙂

      • Spear

        It’s all good. Seabeast >>>>
        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6qq64CVwHY

        • The groove section at 3:30 is dope. This was king in ’04!

          • Guacamole Jim

It’s still king. Great fucking album.

          • I think I bought it at the mall in ’04, on a whim. No regrets.

  • Spear

I also recommend MakingFuck. Way better than the name would suggest.

    • I guess “Berzerker” was taken

      • Janitor Jim Duggan

Of course it was. There’s probably a few bands with that name.

      • Boss the Ross

      • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Yup, shitty band from Australia had that name.

        • BobLoblaw

          They werent THAT shitty.

          • I want one.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

            You would.

          • You should get one then.

          • Ah, yeah… Vintage will do that.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Yeah, they were. Saw them live too and they were poopy. Forgettable Earache band.

          • Fuck, Earache is still a thing. Crazy that label.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain
          • Sad indeed. Surprised that Wormrot is still on there.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

I’m sure they’ll leave soon, their last release was 2011 anyway.

          • Rob M

Wow..outside of Vektor, thats downright pathetic

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

            Pretty much.

          • COAL ROLL

they are shilling Morbid Angel altars of madness wax re-issues right now

          • I heard about that.

          • COAL ROLL

I’d rather pay stupid discogs prices for an original but it did catch my attention. there are the usual variety of colors

          • Yeah, I have a copy already. Just plain black.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Damn, gotta do something with a roster that sad I suppose.

          • COAL ROLL

they might as well just die, right?

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

            Yes. Die.

          • Paddlin’ Rites ov Beargod

Don’t forget the thousand southern “rock” bands they now host.
            BLUEBERRY SMOKE YEEAAH

          • Paddlin’ Rites ov Beargod

Man, they look like they skipped their 20’s straight to middle-aged daddy-ism.

          • BobLoblaw

1000% fuck that label. Fucked over T.O.O.H years ago pretty badly and are responsible for Anata’s absence.

          • Waynecro

            ANATA!!!

          • BobLoblaw

Oh im sure they were atrocious live but there was some pretty god awful stuff floating around at the same time.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

            Totally agree.

          • Did they have a drummer live?

          • Dubs

            Yep.

          • Hey, have you listened to the whole Irkallian Oracle album yet?

          • Dubs

Most of it. Going to mini-review it this week.

          • Nice. I’m anxious to hear it. Holding out for vinyl, but I want to hear it all first.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Yes, they did. Saw them with Immolation and Origin in 2002, I believe. Vader might have been on the bill too, but can’t remember.

          • WOW! That line-up is great. With the exception of Berzerker.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Exactly. It was. I did see two shows at this venue, hence my confusion and of course it being 14 years/beers ago.

          • I would have loved to have seen Origin then. No one sounded like them at that time.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Yeah, it’s when Informis came out. Insane.

          • Exactly.

          • Dave Vincent’s Perm

Matt Wilcock is a fucking incredible guitar player though.

          • Dubs

            I dig ’em.

        • sweetooth0

No way, love The Berzerker! The second album especially where they used a real drummer too, although I kinda dig the fucked up speedcore meets grind of the first one.

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wl-RAcLsMxw

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Yeah, just blah as I remember them.

          • sweetooth0

eh, different strokes for different folks

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

            The eternal truth.

  • Eliza

    New Panopticon, yay!

  • Boss the Ross

Welcome to the 3D Era seems promising.

    • Maik Beninton™

3D may seems promising but it will never work.

      • Boss the Ross

        Touche

        • Maik Beninton™

It has good riffs, though I don’t think those vocals fit.

          • Boss the Ross

Maybe not the best, but i can dig them

      • BobLoblaw

I hear the Rift works quite well actually.

        • Maik Beninton™

Oculus Rift has more to do with virtual reality, which is something else.

          • BobLoblaw

All it does is turn 2D images 3D. Hence why you can watch 3D movies on it. Exactly the same.

          • BobLoblaw

Or at least give the perception of 3D.

  • The wife asked if I would go with her to a Macklemore concert. To which I replied “of course not”. She says “well I have gone to your concerts before”. To which I said “true”. To which she said “and it will be a lot more fun than standing down front watching a bunch of sweaty fat dudes run into each other”. To which I had no response.

    That is all.

    • Less Mackle in 2016. No more Mackles.

    • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Easy, just say you’re into fat, sweaty dudes and that Macklemore fucking sucks. Done.

    • Eliza

      Epic.

    • PostBlackenedWhaleGaze

I was forced to see him a couple years ago at a festival waiting for a better band to play(can’t remember who). Fuck it was awful. I was embarrassed to be there. He went on a mini social justice rant between every single song. I can get behind eliminating teen homelessness because some asshole parents handle their kids being gay, but holy shit, you don’t need to remind us every 4 minutes.

      • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Hahaha. Most “artists” should stick to their “craft”. Get off your fucking soapbox and play your next “hit”. Fucking human scum.

      • Pentagram Sam

Urrrrgh on having to see the dude live. At a shitty previous job someone attempted a failed bonding experience by showing me some video where Macklemore tries to be funny and fails. Every little thing had the person cackling and going, “That’s hi LAR eeyus.” I just stared thru the phone in silence and thought of the swirling silent comfort of the void. Toilet speak!

    • I’m hesitant to google Macklemore.

      • Boss the Ross

        He’s a douche with a punchable face.

        • That’s all I need to read. Thanks Boss-man.

          • Boss the Ross

            No problemo.

      • lol I was not aware of any of his song, so I had to too. Don’t bother with it

      • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

        Derp.

        • Huh, I thought that was Nergal for a second.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

            HAHAHA. Nailed it. Derpgal.

          • Scrimm

            Nergklamore

          • Boss the Ross

            Hahahahahaha! DAMN!

          • Dave Vincent’s Perm

Has anyone ever seen Newgal and Macklemore in the same room together? What did you do with the rest of the body, Macklemore?

        • Janitor Jim Duggan

I hate that he’s wearing an old Vancouver Grizzlies jersey. I also hate that they relocated to Memphis because that jersey is awesome and now they have awful jerseys.

          • Sometimes if you think hard enough, you can produce food from your mouth.

          • Janitor Jim Duggan

I don’t get it. I was talking about his basketball jersey. It’s much better than the current Grizzlies jersey.

          • Frankenstein never scared me! Marsupials do… ‘Cause they’re fast!

          • Why does a fish need a bicycle?

          • “I’d never done a crazy thing in my life before that night. Why is it that if a man kills another man in battle, it’s called heroic, yet if he kills a man in the heat of passion, it’s called murder?”

          • FrankWhiteKingOfNY

The clothing he wears is the least worst thing about him.

    • Well, did you ask her to go to concerts with you?

      • I know of at least 1 concert! You have a point.

        • If you expect her to go to your shows, you’re required to do the same. Sorry.

    • GL, you have been owned.

    • TrickleDownOvTacoKvltRiff

      Bringing the “heavy”…

    • I’d rather watch fat, sweaty dudes(not really but you know)than a bunch of self involved d-bags trying to look cool and disinterested while horrible music stabs my eardrums.

      • Rob M

Remove the part about horrible music, and youve just described 80% of the black metal concerts Ive been to

That new Draugnim album will be Tapir Approved.

    • TAPIR, how are you doing?

      • Sir Tapir The Based

Decent. Looking at how much a funeral costs makes me feel ill.

        • Funeral costs? Everything alright?

          • Sir Tapir The Based

My dad died a week ago.

          • Fuck, man. Sorry to hear that.

          • Guacamole Jim

Dude, I’m super sorry to hear that. My condolences.

          • Shrimp in a Pizza Box

Well, that sure is a way to get that out. Sorry to hear that.

          • Spear

That’s awful. I’m sorry for your loss.

          • : (

          • Sorry for your loss, brother.

          • Scrimm

Man I know the feeling, lost mine a couple years ago. Sincere condolences.

          • Paddlin’ Rites ov Beargod

So very sorry. For your loss

          • If I Was A Carrot I’d Be God

Hey, it’s KJU. Really hoping you’re feeling okay, and all my heart and best wishes to you and everyone involved. Losing someone that close to you is something you get through, but never get over. Went through the same thing last year, and it took months to actually take it in. Love and peace from the Toilet, dearest sir. 🙂

          • Sir Tapir The Based

Thanks KJU. I’ve lost my very close grandmother and gramdfather too, so I do know how to deal with the sorrow.

Cool, I’ll check them out in a few. Just got home.

          • Sir Tapir The Based

The Residents is dankness. Not Available is my fav of theirs.

          • If I Was A Carrot I’d Be God

Lol, it’s hard to even pick a favorite, considering they have damn near 100 CDs.

  • FrankWhiteKingOfNY

I think the next Panopticon album should have some more of that hillbilly stuff in it again. You know, like he did with Kentucky.

  • you know you’ve been in the Toilet too long* when a new Killswitch Engage release makes you say to yourself, “that band still around?”

*just kidding, it’s never long enough there’s never too much Toilet time

    • Dubs

      That’s what she said.

      • edited for clarity, re-edited so your comment makes sense

        • Dubs

Well, it doesn’t make as much sense as it did with, “It’s not long enough,” but I appreciate your consideration.

      • ding DONG

    • Maik Beninton™

We don’t talk much about it.
      That song is good though.

    • Maik Beninton™

I actually asked myself ‘they released an album?’

    • TrickleDownOvTacoKvltRiff

And it means you’re old and your thoughts and opinions are becoming less relevant to future generations. Enjoy!

      • yeah but as they become less relevant, the only logical conclusion i have is to talk more about them!

        • TrickleDownOvTacoKvltRiff

Ok but here is the secret, they are relevant because you have gained life experience. As long as you can accept the fact on one cares, you’re good to go! Life experience = nothing unless you are in a position of authority like in school or at work, they have to listen. Huaaaaahahahahahaha

          • If I Was A Carrot I’d Be God

Spoken like a true Chicagoan! :-p

          • TrickleDownOvTacoKvltRiff

            word

          • If I Was A Carrot I’d Be God

            Chuch!

      • more beer

Who cares what these young whippersnappers think anyway?

        • TrickleDownOvTacoKvltRiff

          Great point!

    • tigeraid

I enjoy KSE, and look forward to this album.

      • i’m glad it took you a day to the gather the courage to admit that. #elitistundercover

        • tigeraid

I make no excuses for it!

          (Plus I didn’t read this yesterday. 🙁 )

          • would you say you are a metalcore fan in some fashion? or is KSE just like special? hehe, doing my street work here

          • tigeraid

KSE is special. Though I jumped on during the Howard era. I generally find other metalcore repetitive and annoying. I prefer the originals, I guess. Kind of like enjoying Lamb of God but not a lot of other LoG-esque bands that came after.

  • Janitor Jim Duggan

The new Diamond Head is a return to form. It’s much better than the last two albums and it actually sounds like classic Diamond Head. This might be an early contender for my top 10 list of this year.

  • Paddlin’ Rites ov Beargod
    • Paddlin’ Rites ov Beargod

Nocturno Culto doesn’t perform with them anymore either.

      • Good, hopefully he’s working on that new Darkthrone instead.

        • Paddlin’ Rites ov Beargod

Hopefully. Figured it’ll be out this year, they had the songs written as I recall.

      • Dubs

Well that’s annoying. It says on their Facebook page, which is linked on the video single, that he does. https://www.facebook.com/sarkeofficial

        • Paddlin’ Rites ov Beargod

He did the vocals on the album. And might continue as a studio-vocalist in the future for all I know.
But the guy from Infant Massacre has been performing with them.

          • Dubs

            I see.

  • 365ChaosRiddenDays

This was released in February but I knew it today via No Clean Singing and you can read the review and stream the album by Diabolus Amator, a Black Metal in the vein of early Bathory with the ferocity of Marduk if I have to recall some names who bursting with energy and the songs lenght (around 3:00 minutes range) helps this savagery gallop that shows variety when brief moments for somber melodies are present in some of the songs, no filler, very inspired :http://www.nocleansinging.com/2016/03/07/an-ncs-premiere-and-a-review-diabolus-amator-despotic-conjuring-of-the-soulless/

    • Dang, this is pretty tight. Thanks.

      • 365ChaosRiddenDays

You’re welcome, Have you heard this EP? It’s thrash mixed with the Black Metal of the first wave, the riffs are very infectious, here: https://caligarirecords.bandcamp.com/album/midnight-forces

        • Not yet. I saw that it was added to Caligari Records tape collection though. Will have to check it out. Really digging the vocals on this Diabolus Amator though. I remember their release from last year, this is a big improvement. Drums are much tighter.

    • that’s some gud listening right there

      • 365ChaosRiddenDays

Detective, your investigation will be satisfying, no lies Sir!

    • Stanley

I have the first album on CD. Black, raw and riffs. Funnily enough I was playing it this morning. I shared it with Tyree at the time. It must have been back when he was drinking. haha.

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iti-jJA_r3w

      • Nah, I remember it. Just sounds WAY tighter than this one.

        • Stanley

Yep, the first one is a little sloppy. Fun though.

      • 365ChaosRiddenDays

First approach with this song, love is the first word, about drinks, they bring back hot stuff to the memory and I will hear this album later, with a beer of course!

  • Dave Vincent’s Perm

    Brutal.

  • Janitor Jim Duggan

There’s an error when it comes to Diamond Head. They’re now on AFM Records.

    • Spear

The new album is being released independently.

      • Janitor Jim Duggan

I saw on their Facebook that they just got signed to.the label I mentioned and they’re releasing it on April 22nd. Diamond Head will be releasing the pre orders on Friday.

        • Spear

So they are! At the time of writing, they hadn’t yet announced that. I’ll make sure they’re on the list that week.

      • Janitor Jim Duggan

Here is the press release. Also, I got the label wrong.

F(r)iends, evil returns for our pleasure this June 3 on Century Media. The Black Metal Swedish force in Dark Funeral has a new opus for us, called “Where Shadows Forever Reign” and here’s the artwork in all of his grim beauty:

    • If I Was A Carrot I’d Be God

      FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Sir Tapir The Based

Knowing Dark Funeral, it’s gonna suck.

  • Waynecro

    Digging that Panopticon and Corprophemia.
