This Toilet Tuesday: bringing you all the metal since 2014. ALL OF IT. Let’s cut straight to the chase; there’s a ton of music out this week, and there’s a lot of good stuff you’re inevitably never going to have time to listen to. Karhu, W, and I have picked out our favorites for the week; now it’s your turn. Give those bands we might have missed the attention they deserve and share them below!

police state

Police State – Mind Collapse (Grimoire Records) [Grindcore]
Stream

Grind purists rejoice! Police State bring the punky, d-beat clatter your crusty little hearts crave. Mind Collapse is chock-full of nasty little songs just below the minute mark to give you amphetamine junkies your fix, with each tune screeching from anti-religious polemic to juddering bounce to breakneck buzz-saw riffs in a matter of seconds. Prepare your butt to be chopped off. FFO: Vulture Locust, BRUCEXCAMPBELL, Yattai 11/6/15 (W.)

worthless

Worthless – Grim Catharsis (Ranka Kustannus) [Death Metal]
Listen to “Mental Hammer”

‘Tis my first touch with Worthless. One thing that I found out right away is that they don’t quite live up to their name; on the contrary, I feel this band will make a worthy addition to my collection. Their brand of Bathory-esque death metal with a little melancholy on the side seems most fitting to the casual mood I find myself in these days, and I must encourage you to try this very same treatment. You won’t find yourself any happier, but at least the gloom is darn much more bearable (pun intended). 11/6/15 (Nordling Rites ov Karhu)

breitenhold

Breitenhold – The Inn of Sorrowing Souls (Stormspell Records) [Speed Metal]
Stream

When a band’s record label describes themselves as “old farts stuck in the 80’s and proud of it,” it doesn’t make me hopeful. That’s almost always a sign that you’re going to get some half-assed Motley Crüe or Gary Moore knockoff band. Well, apparently the guys at Stormspell are stuck in the fun part of the 80’s, because holy hell does Breitenhold deliver the goods. These guys play top-tier speed/power/thrash/whatever with a healthy dose of Blind Guardian worship. The vocals are pretty typical speed metal (read: falsetto for days), which I’m sure will be a turnoff for some, but you’re missing out on a fun album if you let that get in the way. Grab a beer and your favorite longsword and get ready to slay some posers. 11/1/15 (Spear)

  • Super Nintendo Chalmers

My label specializes in the subgenre of lolbuttz and post-lolbuttz.

    • KJM, Shake Zula

      What of Lolbuttz-core?

      • Super Nintendo Chalmers

Lolbuttzcore is false and is left to guys like Sumerian.

      • Abe Vigoda’s Oily Stool Sample

        Metalcore’s name around my house.

    • Maik Beninton™

The best part of lolbuttz is that you don’t know what you will get, except that it will be terrible.

      • MAIK! check out the Dark Moor video for some visual lolbuttz

    • Janitor Jim Duggan

Are you going to sign Good Charlotte? They’re returning.

  • Worthless is bringing the Celtic Frost too which in not worthless either. I’m digging this Worthless fucking track.

    • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Speaking of bringing the Frost, you ever heard of Lair of the Minotaur?

      • Vote for Jeb

        +1

      • I have not, listening now. Quite nasty so far.

        Chicago, Illinois ay? Imagine that.

        • Abe Vigoda’s Oily Stool Sample

Yep, quite popular there from what I can tell.

      • KJM, Shake Zula

        I can dig it.

    • Maik Beninton™

      Man have a strong ugh.

      • Abe Vigoda’s Oily Stool Sample

*Gorak sues for copyright of ‘ugh’*

  • This was released yesterday as well form Iron Bonehead Productions. Menacing as fuck death metal. Good shit!

  • Paddlin’ Rites ov Beargod

You like Breitenhold? Blazon Stone is same guys Running Wild worship band, Rocka Rollas is same guys JudasPriest worship band and Cloven Hoof is same guys (some band) worship band.
All released new albums this week.

    • Spear

Wow, that is just the same dude. Oh well, it’s still fun.

      • Janitor Jim Duggan

He has amazing ability if he can make 4 albums with 4 different bands and release them the same week.

        • Abe Vigoda’s Oily Stool Sample

Not really. That just sounds cluttered and thrown together, unless you’re Rhys Fulber and Bill Leeb. 4 albums a week for them would be a slow week.

    • Janitor Jim Duggan

      Rocka Rollas is amazing.

  • DoYouThinkHeSaurus

That Bodyfarm song was a good.

    • Vote for Jeb

I thought you usually spoke in Jurassic Park quotations.

  • Boss the Ross

I just discovered Stormspell Records last night, old school exclellence with the greatest album covers ever (read: corny and over the top but still amazing!)

    • Janitor Jim Duggan

      They are a good label.

  • KJM, Shake Zula

Still hoping this is some kind of hoax or mistake. If not, I’m rooting for him.

    • more beer

That is horrible. Been a fan of theirs for like 30 years. Hope he recovers.

    • Abe Vigoda’s Oily Stool Sample

Hoping like hell that’s a hoax!

I never tire of this gif.

      • Guppusmaximus

I always feel like I can do no wrong when I watch this…I could watch it all day 🙂

        • Vote for Jeb

I think Jeremiah Johnson was actually the first movie my folks watched together.

          • Guppusmaximus

Hmmm, I’ve never seen it myself.

          • Vote for Jeb

            It’s kind of slow, IIRC.

          • Guppusmaximus

Yea, and I’m not much for movies from the 70s. A bit too dated for my taste.

          • Abe Vigoda’s Oily Stool Sample

Not even Apocalypse Now, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull or The Godfather?!

          • Guppusmaximus

Not even… sorry, just not my taste.

          • Abe Vigoda’s Oily Stool Sample

At least we agree on Master Of Disguise and Freddy Got Fingered being masterpieces.

          • Guppusmaximus

I was all like…I don’t remember discussing a Lizzy Borden album and some strange German porn with you…ever. Then I googled it 😛

          • KJM, Shake Zula

Pretty sure I saw it in a theater way back when.

          • Abe Vigoda’s Oily Stool Sample

I thought that was Grizzly Adams, actually.

      • I never tire of you <3

  • xengineofdeathx

I just want to take a minute to say this new Vehemence shreds. And that police state album cover is fucking awesome.

    • Waynecro

Fuck yes! I love the new Vehemence album.

      • xengineofdeathx

I missed those guys, man. Had no idea it was even coming out. My work week just got a lot less miserable.

        • Waynecro

I’ve been waiting for the album for a while, but its release snuck up on me anyway. Jamming the album definitely cuts down the misery for a little while.

  • !!! new Desecresy !!!

  • This week is STRONG in power metal

  • Sunpocrisy is great Isis worship for anyone looking to scratch that post-metal itch in between Cult of Luna albums.

    • Old Man Doom

That CoL itch is far too strong.

      • Vote for Jeb

It wakes me up at night.

    • Herr Schmitty

THIS IS A REVIEW THAT GRABS MY ATTENTION.

  • Abe Vigoda’s Oily Stool Sample

And much to everyone’s (ok, only to a bro’s greasy, Four Loko stained) delight, this came out a few days ago………….
