This Toilet Tuesday (10/25/16)

Welcome to This Toilet Tuesday! As per usual, every metal band on Earth has decided to dump their new album out right around Halloween, making it a heavy work week for us but a good week for you. W, Karhu, and I have picked a couple of the best for you, but there are a ton of interesting new releases out this week. Peruse the list, maybe check out something you haven’t heard before, and enjoy!

Vermin Womb – Decline (Translation Loss Records) [Deathgrind]

Vermin Womb is that throbbing, mind-rattling headache that wakes you up after a night of binge drinking. It hates you. It wants you to suffer and relive the horror of every poor decision you’ve made. It twists and turns and chugs and thrums and makes you want to vomit and die with its relentless pounding. It conjures vomit and bile. It will do its best to convince you to just give in and give up. If this new album has its way, you just might. FFO: Piss Vortex, Clinging to the Trees of a Forest Fire, Primitive Man 10/28/16 (W.)

Keitzer – Ascension (FDA Rekotz) [Grindy Death Metal]

What happens when a former German satanic black/thrashing champion decide to abandon their narrow confines and write the best album they’ve ever made? An extremely boring, milksop, poop flavoured soup called Starless happens. But these Germans aren’t unsmart. They realized their blooper, ditched their vocalist and recruited Harvey Keitel in his place (or so the rumour says). The result is a raging, but not very thrashing, combo of death metal and grind. Ripping, tight-as-a-maiden-in-bloom riffing, Slicer-Dicer precision drumming and a whole new world of pitbullian growls from Mr. Keitel (presumably). If you’re a fan of modern death, like your tempos fast and your songs short, and don’t mind a breather or two – don’t miss this. 10/28/16 (Karhu)

Incarceration – Catharsis (FDA/Soulfood) [Death/Thrash]
Listen to “Evoking the Possession,” “Infernal Suffering/Chaos and Blasphemy,” “Obsessed By Death”

While their label and press releases all ardently describe Incarceration as the modern epitome of old-school death metal, they sound more akin to the likes of acts such as Ripper and Sadistic Ritual to my ears. This is by no means a bad thing, of course; it’s fast and violent, and my own throat started to hurt just listening to the vocals. There’s been no shortage of good death thrash this year, but there’s no way I’m saying no to more of it. Jam this until your neck breaks. 10/23/16 (Spear)

Just a reminder that this killer EP I mini-reviewed a while back is also released today. Great Irish death metal in the vein of Pestilence, Death, etc.

    • Starring Martin Van Drunen’s escaped clone on vocals.

  • Abradolf Lincler

    dat Anal Nitrate tho

  • Yesss! New Theocracy! And it sounds p good!

Malignant Tumour is sounding good too, so far 🙂

    • Freedom Jew

I’ve had the new Theocracy for about a month. If you like their previous releases, you’ll enjoy this one. They even get a little thrashy on a few songs.

      • EGGcellent!

      • Joaquin Stick

Theocracy is not my normal jam, not even a little bit, but Paper Tiger just popped up on my spotify discovery playlist, and goddamn is that a catchy tune.

  • Joaquin Stick
    • W.

I have opinions on this album. Opinions you’ll be reading later this week.

      • Joaquin Stick

Can’t wait. I am an amateur in the realm of dissonance, so I’ll be happy to have it put in context. I think it’s just swell, however. They somehow hit all the right spots for someone who doesn’t typically get filthy.

      • Abradolf Lincler

if its not more Destroyers of All or older Ulcerate then poop on it

    • This band has a new album out?

    • AeonsOvChaos

The soundtrack for the end of the world.

    • GL

I am at loss for words. Which is saying is something!

  • Krypts and Vermin Womb. Yup.

  • Señor Jefe El Rosa

    Crowbar and Helmet!!!

Malignant Tumour caught my eye, as well as new Theocracy.

    This week is jam packed

    • Owlswald

I’m hopeful the rest of that Helmet album is better than the first song that was released.

      • Señor Jefe El Rosa

Same here. Still looking forward to it and the following tour

  • GL

That Vermin Womb is hot rockin’.

  • ME GORAK™✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

    NEW TESTAMENT!!!!!!!!! GORAK SUPER HYPE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Vermin Womb and Keitzer sound quite nice, I’ll have to listen to those in full sometime. Otherwise it looks like Cognitive and Dehumanized are my go-to for his week.

  • AeonsOvChaos

Speaking about bestial music, try to listen Void Meditation Cult:

    • Abradolf Lincler

      Whoop whoop

    • Oh yeah, listened to this beast last night. Shit is like a mix between the groovier parts of Demoncy and Beherit but with that super occult doom feel.

      • Abradolf Lincler

even my old lady dug this record

        • Fucking rules! It’s about time people noticed this band. If anyone else digs this shit, definitely listen to their previous works. Even the shit under the name Sperm of Antichrist.

          • AeonsOvChaos

            I like this name.

          • Abradolf Lincler

and being that theyre on HH, you know the records will stay pressed for a while

          • This one might sell a bit faster than you’d expect. Their last one is out of print, it’s been for a while now.

          • Abradolf Lincler

huh. well i was wanting to get a hoodie from HH so maybe ill do that. those damn Lifelover reissues though. TOO MUCH STUFF, TYREE

          • Dave Vincent’s Perm

I tried playing two Lifelover riffs at the same time, sounded p cool

  • Simon PhoenixKing Rising

I see wat you did there, Karhu.

  • Nipples ‘n’ Such

My playlist for the day will be Vermin Womb, Anaal Nathrakh, Ulcerate, Testament, Krypts, Fluisteraars, Death Fetishist, and Crowbar.

  • Maik Beninton™

    SU TA GAH!
This isn’t very laughable (other than those lyrics), but it’s very not good.

  • Kevin Nash’s Jackknife

How did I not know there was a new album from Lucifers Friend? They’re so good!

  • larval

Autokrator – Obedience to Authority gatefold LP will be out in a few days as well.

  • Owlswald

I have a feeling we’ll be seeing that Korrosiah video again on this blog soon..

  • OldMetalHead

Strangely, I listened to that Dehumanized earlier today because I saw them on this.
Was wondering if it was worth my time.

  • OldMetalHead

That Incarceration is fast and nasty. Digging it for sure!

  • Waynecro

That new Vermin Womb album is one of my favorite things. Keitzer sounds pretty sick, and I’m always giddy about new Aldious. ANAAL NATHRAKH!!! The Bruce X Campbell/Meth Leppard split kicks ass too. Cognitive fucking rips, and I can’t wait to jam the new Deranged album. Ulcerate rocks my socks, and I’m going to see them with Zhrine in a couple weeks. Man, so much good stuff this week!

  • Mr. Bojangles

    speedwhores are my favorite

  • NDG

Faaark, that Vermin Womb is ugly.
