This Toilet Tuesday (10/18/16)

It has been months since the swelling started. It began around a small, seemingly innocuous cut you gave yourself on the corner of your bathroom sink. A small amount of swelling was to be expected, but you started to be concerned when the skin around it started taking on a yellow-green hue and swelling further a few days later. You told yourself it was probably just a bruise and opted to ignore it; it didn’t hurt, after all. Your friends started to show concern not long after, when most of your forearm had swollen up and began to exude a pungent odor. You told them you’d go to a doctor, but never did; one by one, they left you as your body continued to balloon and the smell intensified.

Now you stare at your hideous, bloated form in the bathroom mirror, in the place where this all started. A green-tinged pus oozes from the corners of your eyes; your nose is too puffy to breathe through anymore. I don’t need them anymore, you bitterly tell yourself. You look down at your swollen arm; the cut has begun to split open. Beneath a thin sheen of blood, your new skin glistens, green and slick. A thin tendril worms its way out of the wound, swaying seemingly of its own accord. You stare at it dully, feeling new splits forming across your body. The transformation is drastic but painless, your shed skin lying in heaps at your feet. Yes, you think, I’ll make them accept my new form.

Embrace the scum inside. This is Toilet Tuesday.

Dünedain – Pandemonium (Independent) [Power Metal]
Listen to “Legado”

Sons of Metal! Of Power! My brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me! A day may come when the riffs of men fail, when we forsake our choruses and break all bonds of melody. But it is not this day. An hour of posers and shattered steel when the age of Trve comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you riff! Men of the Toilet! FFO: Hobbits, Elves, Cheesy Euro power 10/16/16 (W.)

Auroch – Mute Books (Profound Lore Records) [Death Metal]
Listen to “He Wreaths the Cross,” “Say Nothing”

I remember Taman ShudAuroch’s last LP, catching some flak in the dark pre-Toilet days for “trying too hard.” At the time, I was of the same mindset; my tastes in death metal have expanded quite a bit since then, and I’ve come to appreciate the wild and unhinged nature of the band. The press release for Mute Books promises this will be Auroch’s “darkest, most brutal, complex, and musically virulent release to date,” but the two songs available as of this writing seem to indicate a much more direct and controlled effort. That’s not a bad thing- indeed, the riffs are still big and nasty- but I’m hoping the rest of the album will display more of the madness present on the last one. Either way, this will definitely be a good listen. 10/21/16 (Spear)

            Really?!?!?! Contact them!

          • I did, they said they are delayed. Dumb.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

            Wow. Lame!

          • RJA

I used to love that Hell’s didn’t pre-order anything – when they had it for sale, they had it in hand. Don’t know why they changed that.

          • Yeah good point! I rarely ever Pre-order shit. Not sure why I felt the need to do it for this album.

          • Señor Jefe El Rosa

SAME HERE, I’ve never had a problem with them before

          • Señor Jefe El Rosa

Bandcamp page says due to ship on or around December 29th!

    • Good. Too much new music all the time. Nice to have a break to catch up. Hahaha! Catch up, like that will ever happen.

      • W.

This sample is used in a song, but I’m blanking on which atm.

        • W.

Oh derp, it’s a CoB song. No wonder I couldn’t place it immediately. Haven’t heard it in years (allegedly).

          • I was going to suggest Antagonist AD because they made liberal use of American Psycho samples a few years back but I doubt anyone here other than maybe Joe listens to them.

  • Kevin Nash’s Jackknife

    Yay, Tygers of Pan Tang!

    • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

      Wang Dang Sweet Pan Tang.

      • Oh hell yes.

        Didn’t E X P A N D to see there was another image. I did not endorse ICP.

    • YouTube Power Metal Fan

“I feel an overwhelming urge to start belting out grandiose “la la la’s” in B minor”.

  • TrundleTheGreat

20 Buck Spin dropped the Khemmis album early yesterday. I don’t think this band can write a bad song.

  • Señor Jefe El Rosa

With a name like Dunedain, they better be good

    • Sadly, they aren’t singing about fantasy and that’s a bummer 🙁

But the song is p good. I’m not too fond on Spanish Power Metal, but this one is a good. Thanks to Dubs for the recommendation, of course.

  • Señor Jefe El Rosa

“Exude a Pungent Odor” will be the first release from my new grind band, thanks Spear

  • Joaquin Stick

Really digging that progressive sludgy stuff coming from Mantra. I’ll be checking that out Friday for sure.

  • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Not new, but Demon Bitch has their new album available, Hellfriends.

    • Señor Jefe El Rosa

      News to use!

    • Simon PhoenixKing Rising

They also have sweet new shirts and patches.

  • 365ChaosRiddenDays
    • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Artwork is fucking ridiculous. But the guitar tone is weak as shit. Wow, really not digging that.

      • Yeah, I think you nailed it.

        • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

The drums sound off too and not in a good way. The only thing I like about this is the vocals and artwork. I can’t believe they were cool with that guitar sound. I’m actually kind of shocked.

          • Sort of reminds me of Wulkanaz. I have a feeling they are really influenced by them. Just weird out there black metal. Not for me.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

            Yeah, this is dumb.

          • Surprised Terratur Possessions has them on their roster.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

I guess Ole must really dig them?

          • A lot of people do! *Scratches Head* I think HD likes them.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

          • RJA

I would also be on the side of “I do not understand this band” – I like “black metal” and I like weirdness and I like lo-fi, but I do not enjoy the Wulkanaz stuff on any level.

          • Damage_Inc89

Just as soon as I almost like it, nope. There are some cool riffs here and there, but the vocals just smother everything, and of course it sounds pretty bad anyway.

If the vocals were more muffled than the rest of the instruments it might hold up better. I do dig the punky riffs though (or at least how I can imagine them sounding on anyone else’s guitar lol). Really wouldn’t even sound as much like black metal if it weren’t for the vocals and production.

      • 365ChaosRiddenDays

I think they’re not so bad but I admit is not the Black Metal that I’m used to hear, I’ll hear it in full, I like this track but I have to hear theentire thing thing of course, yeah, maybe the album will be awful.

        • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Yeah, always good hearing the whole album.

      • I honestly thought y’all loved BM with weak-ass guitar tones.

        • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Not really at all true. If so can you point out an example?

          • I would if I could remember any of their names at any given time.¯_(ツ)_/¯

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

          • YouTube Power Metal Fan
          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

That tone’s not bad at all. Plenty of gain/distortion.

          • Pretty much the standard classic black metal tone.

    • New Zealand band ay. I’ve been on a huge New Zealand war metal kick as of lately. Diocletian, Sabbatic Goat, Witchrist, Vassafor, and Heresiarch. Not sure what I think of this though. It’s weird and I can’t put my finger on it.

      • 365ChaosRiddenDays

Diocletain rips but I’m not into the rest of bands you have mentioned.

        • Not the bestial black metal type?

          • 365ChaosRiddenDays

No, I’m just saying that I never heard their music, but usually bands in the vein of Teitanblood, Archgoat, Necrosemen and so on!

          • Ah, gottcha. Sorry, I misread your comment.

          • 365ChaosRiddenDays

No problem Tyree, bestial Black Metal is my thing, except for that Verberis song but I have to hear it in full, It’s weird and could be shit but I’m curious, honestly I’m pretty eager to hear the upcoming split between Sinmara and Misþyrming.

          • Yeah, that Misþyrming sample I heard sounded mean as hell. Can’t wait for that one too.

          • Rob M

You can go back and find samples from all those bands Tyree mentioned on No Clean Singing if you want. I know I pointed Islander at most of them at one point or another

          • Or just look them up on Bandcamp. All those albums are posted there as well.

          • 365ChaosRiddenDays

I’ll do it, thanks, any album to recommend?

          • Beheaded Ouroboros by Witchrist! You won’t be disappointed.

          • 365ChaosRiddenDays

Ok, I’m listening, I’m into the opener, this is my thing, grabbed me immediately!

          • Rob M

What Tyree said, cant go wrong with Witchrist…most of those bands have pretty limited release histories though…Sabbatic Goat only has a couple of demos and a split. Heresiarch is just a demo and a couple of EP’s.

Vassafor has a bunch of splits/demos and EP’s, but Id go with their one full length, Obsidian Codex

          • That first Heresiarch EP though. Goddamn!

          • Rob M

Yes!…hahaha!…damn dude, youre going to have me spinning all this shit when I get off work today

          • 365ChaosRiddenDays

Ok, I’ll dig this in the next days, thanks Rob.

          • Rob M

            No problem man

        • I’ll vouch for Witchrist and Vassafor.

          • Yeah I guess those two really aren’t war metal. More doomy death metal than anything.

          • The cavernous sound tickles me pink.

          • Yes! Love that style of death metal. I’m really hoping for new Impetuous Ritual soon.

          • Shit, I still haven’t listened to Unholy Congregation of Hypocritical Ambivalence.

          • Rob M

I think Witchrists first one was closer to war metal than The Grand Tormentor…still had those doomy parts, but definitely a more chaotic/wall of thunder style on that album

          • For sure, they got more doomy has they went on. I actually have my Beheaded Ouroboros cassette in my cars player now.

          • Rob M

Fucking love that album…I may fire that up later, havent listened to it in a while

          • Such a beefy sounding album and ultimately crushing.

          • Rob M

            Agreed…total monster

          • Still bummed that they couldn’t make it to MDF that one year with Diocletian.

          • Rob M

Definitely…That was one of the bands I was most wanting to see that year.

Still not sure why that even happened considering most of Diocletian was in Witchrist.

At least theyre back together as a band again…hopefully they’ll make it over here someday

          • My thoughts exactly. It had to do with the drummer I thought. But Geoff Eyles was in both bands at that time. I hope they bring back C. Sinclair now that Diocletian is a thing again. Not sure if you heard that news or not?

          • Rob M

            I did!

…havent heard anything about whose going to be in the band, but I know theyre putting a new lineup together

          • Dave Vincent’s Perm

            Diocletian is a thing again?

          • Fuck yes dude!

          • Dave Vincent’s Perm
      • Rob M

Fucking Sabbatic Goat..damn that demo ripped!

  • Interested in Dünedain for that excellent write-up.

Also, interested in Auroch for that sick cover art, Wardruna, Mithras and Khemmis.

    • Maik Beninton™

That Dünedain lyric video is lolbuttz but the song rips.
Auroch is weird, might have to give more listens to fully enjoy.

  • Ay yo WOOAARGH, where that Six-Score at mayne? I want it and Oct 14 was four days ago?

  • That Khemmis album is the TITS. This is the first time I’ve really enjoyed music like this. Anyone have any recommendations for similar bands?

  • Waynecro

Auroch sounds pretty awesome, and I dig that album art. Also, MITHRAS!!!

  • Fabio Royale Toti

Egeria-“suicide” from the new album “Nitra”
