Greetings again, fellow denizens of the bowl! On this most Toilet of Tuesdays, W, Jack Bauer, Leif Bearikson, and I emerge from the sewer like a less awesome version of the Ninja Turtles, covered in filth and grime and reeking of freshly-expelled excrement. We’ve picked through the crap for only the choicest nuggets, and we’ve come back with a grab-bag of unflushable goodies. Besides the six sewer-gems we’ve highlighted below, there’s a ton of variety this week; there should be a little something for everybody in there. Roll up your sleeves and dig in. -Spear

revocation

Revocation – Deathless (Metal Blade) [Death/Thrash]

Stream

Ever since I first heard the song “Cradle Robber” off of their Chaos of Forms album, I have been a die-hard Revocation fan. They manage to combine extreme technicality and thrash into something that is truly their own sound.  You always know what you will get with these guys, but at the same time it never gets stale because they are always improving. It is truly a sight to behold. Fast forward 3 years, an album, and an EP later and these guys are releasing yet another album in Deathless. They are one of the hardest working bands out there and they truly love to make music. This is Revocation at their absolute best, but then again, when are they not? (Jack Bauer)

Starkill

Starkill – Virus of the Mind (Century Media) [Symphonic Death Metal]

Stream

Starkill is a band from my hometown so I may be a bit biased, but I’ll be damned if Virus of the Mind isn’t one of the best albums to come out this year.  Their first album was an absolute ripper with blistering solos and a super fast pace. They do a very good job of combining various genres into their own badass sound. Virus of the Mind sees them experimenting a bit with clean vox and it ends up working really well. They still have the blistering solos and pace though, which is something you won’t see me complaining about. (Jack Bauer)

 inter arma

Inter Arma – The Cavern (Relapse) [Sludge/Post-Metal]

Stream

Inter Arma released one of my favorite albums in 2013, and a year later they’re at it again. The Cavern is a single 45 minute song, nay, a journey. Now, I can see you rolling your eyes at the thought of a singular overlong song, but trust me and my mustache, friends, this thing is so enthralling that it seems to breeze by. This is all of the things that made Sky Burial great, alternating heaviness and somber Americana plus an ass ripping solo or 3, all distilled into a singular fantastic achievement. Now that I’m done giving this one a word job, go forth and listen! (Leif Bearikson)

swallowed

Swallowed – Lunarterial (Dark Descent) [Sludge/Doom]

Listen to “Arterial Mists of Doom”

It has only taken 7 years, but we’re FINALLY getting a full length from the crusty Finland quartet of Swallowed. If you aren’t familiar with them, I suggest you rectify that real quick and in a hurry (Sorry, I’m from Texas, these phrases happen) because if the lead single “Arterial Mists of Doom” is anything to go by, you’re about to have your pelvis crushed. Oh, and fair warning, when go to press play please be wary of our resident Masterlord’s throbbing Swallowed steelboner (phrasing!). (Leif Bearikson)

menace ruine

Menace Ruine – Venus Armata (Profound Lore) [Experimental/Ambient]

Listen to “Red Sulphur,” “Soothing but Cruel”

A funereal vibe and eerie organ groans set the mood over simplistic marching beats, accenting the Jefferson Starship-esque dreamy vocals. This is technically doom metal, but it’s saccharine, idyllic doom that transports your mind and heart to far-away pastures. Call it atmospheric or navel-gazey, but Venus Armata demonstrates that Menace Ruine know how to tap into the deepest reaches of your psyche and lull you into a mesmerizing stupor. The delicate interplay between the lugubrious environ and the gentle, caressing female-vocals will rock you gently. Embrace the sleepwalking night terror over at Bandcamp. (W.)

occultation

Occultation – Silence in the Ancestral House (Profound Lore) [Progressive Doom]

Listen to “Laughter in the Halls of Madness,” “The Dream Tide”

Continuing with the dreamy atmosphere established by Menace Ruine, Occultation are going to lull you further into a stupor before ripping your soul directly from your body. I’m going to be honest here; I don’t generally like retro acts. That said, it’s hard to deny that there’s something special about the Kurt Ballou-produced Silence in the Ancestral House. Melodious riffs ascend into NWOBHM solos that articulate the mystical nature of the silky vocals. This music is undeniably catchy, and I’m sure it would sound great live. Plus, that album art is totally rocket. Jam these tracks at Bandcamp. (W.)

    • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

      This shit is nice.

    • Howard Dean

I bought Putrid Death Sorcery and enjoyed it quite a bit, so this one will definitely be on my radar (might not be an immediate purchase, as I have about two dozen albums on their way to me right now).

      • Tyree

Definitely keeping this one on my radar too. Also, I’m still waiting on
“Unholier Master” to arrive along with some other stuff.

        • Howard Dean

The wait is brutal, especially when it’s something as awesome as the Unholier Master LP. I’m waiting on a bunch of shit right now. I decided it was going to be a great idea to order a lot of stuff from Germany. The German distros have tons of awesome stuff, but the shipping costs and the wait are killers. Oh well. It will be worth it (as long as they show up!)

          • Tyree

Yup, I guess I’ll just drink some awesome stouts while I wait.

          • W.

There’s so much good stuff this week. i think I’ll be occupied with new releases all week.

          • Gurp

            Before 12? Whaaaaaat?

          • W.

Dude, day drinking is the best. I say that as someone who doesn’t get drunk.

          • Gurp

But how can you do that on a Tuesday?

          • Nordling Rites Ov Karhu

The same way you do it on a lovely Saturday, just ignore the fact you’ll have to go to work tomorrow.

          • W.

            This guy gets it.

          • Gurp

What if you have work THAT DAY?

          • Nordling Rites Ov Karhu

My advice is to firmly stick to the Cannibal Corpse formula.
            Hammered, Shit-Faced.

(you can use Tankard to hide the noise coming from co-workers.)
            Ugh. Karhu has spoken.

          • Tyree

Got this waiting in the fridge. Miles Davis’ Bitches Brew – Dogfish Head Brewery, American Double / Imperial Stout | 9.00% ABV.

          • Nordling Rites Ov Karhu

Sounds like that Brew is gonna be Bitchin’

          • Janitor Jim Dvggan

I had no clue that he was talking about a beer with the same name as the album.

          • Nordling Rites Ov Karhu

You oughta pay more attention. But the album is pretty bitchin’ too

          • Janitor Jim Dvggan

Bitches Brew was an amazing album. Same goes for Sketches of Spain.

          • Leif Bearikson

            JEALOUS

          • Simon Phoenix

            Well sheeeit.

          • KJM

            “Toki, drinking’s nots a contest.”

          • Simon Phoenix

Just make sure they’re not white.

(Inside joke folks. No racism here.)

          • Tyree

Hahaha! What a dumb beer & brewery.

        • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

          I need to get that.

          • Howard Dean

That album slays. Might be the best war/bestial album released this year (better than new Diocletian and neck-and-neck with new Teitanblood for me). Great stuff.

          • Tyree

It’s going to be a close call between Diocletian and Sacrocurse. I’m going to have to listen to those two albums on repeat one day to really compare them in detail. Like I said the other day though, I sort of find my self listening to Sacrocurse more than Diocletian. That can change though.

          • Howard Dean

Yeah, I go back and forth between those two. When we were talking about it last week, they were pretty even for me. But I listened to Sacrocurse again this weekend when I was driving, and it eclipsed Diocletian again. I just love the production on Unholier Master. It has the raw edge that war/bestial should have, but it’s clearer, thicker, and more powerful than a lot of similar albums.

Teitanblood is kind of a different beast, a little swampier and/or cavernous, but I still group them together. I really like the new Teitanblood. It’s kind of a long listen, but I don’t see it falling out of my top 10.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain
          • Tyree

The production on Unholier Master is almost perfect! It fits their crushing and unrelenting style of playing so fucking well. The vocals sounds especially great!

Edit: I need to listen to Teitanblood’s new album again.

          • W.

I’m going to listen to Sacrocurse now. It’s next on my queue for the day.

          • Tyree

            PREPARE TO BE CRUSHED!

            It’s a scorcher Dubya.

          • Howard Dean

Let us know what you think when you finish!

          • Nordling Rites Ov Karhu

The new Teitanblood is a Humongous beast! Absolutely loving it

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Fuck I need to get both of those albums too.
I’ve met the vocalist/guitarist Zolrak of Sacrocurse before. He’s a cool dude.

          • Simon Phoenix

Album is some vicious stuff. I’m not quite sure if it will top Gesundrian for me yet though. That record is so good it made me a fan of Diocletian.

      • I found it looking for Black Thrash, and was so happy with it, even if it didn’t fit my original search criteria

  • Janitor Jim Dvggan

If the new Acacia Strain album is that good I shall buy it. Same with the new Revocation album.

    • W.

There’s a 27 minute song at the end of the new Acacia Strain album that is FANTASTIC.

      • I paused Rhapsody to listen to this. It better be good

        • W.

It’s like Natasha by Pig Destroyer, so your mileage may vary.

          • Be back in 20 minutes

          • I appreciate the drone and the music, they’re both good, but this feels like a weaker (not bad) version of Natasha.

Also, I can feel how big the singer’s gauges are just from his vocals.

          • W.

Haha, I see what you mean. I think it’s probably the best thing AS have ever written, though.

          • From what I have heard, we can definitely agree there

          • I’ll agree and still flush it.

          • Meet me in the pit, nerds.

          • I can’t, m-my asthma…and glasses…and b-b-brittle bones

      • Janitor Jim Dvggan

I really want to hear that song. If the album is good enough and they come around here again I shall see them again.

        • I posted the song on here for you. There’s also a stream of the entire album on youtube on Rise Records’ channel.

          • Janitor Jim Dvggan

I’m listening to the stream at the moment and my god this is good. For a band that has had some crap this is their best album in my opinion. This album is in my top 5 of the year but it is at number 5. Number 4 was The Satanist, 3 was Electric Wizard, 2 was Godflesh and 1 will be At The Gates.

  • Renan Ribeiro

It’s amazing how much Revocation’s songwriting evolved from their first album to this one. I’ve always felt they were amazing musicians who lacked something when it came to songs… Davidson’s vocals improved a lot as well. This new album is amazing and I will definitely buy it.

    • Janitor Jim Dvggan

I will probably buy it as well.

    • HessianHunter

The self titled record was really boring to me, and made me nervous they had jumped the shark. All they needed to do was kick the death metal up a few notches and they’re back on track!

  • Tyree

I am dead. So will my wallet soon enough here, no thanks to Today is the Day, Old Lines, Baptists, Menace Ruine, Swallowed, and Inter Arma.

    • Edward Meehan

I’m buying Couch Slut on Bandcamp after work today (if I have time) or certainly this week.

      Couch Slut >>>

      • Tyree

Thanks for the reminder on that! Adding to my wishlist now.

        • Edward Meehan

Handshake, Inc. let me know in my Facebook newsfeed only moments earlier.

      • Virgil the Ghost Poet

On CD? I couldn’t find it on CD.

        • Edward Meehan

I’m gonna buy it on Bandcamp, that’s my normal go to for actually purchasing music. I don’t really have a way to listen to physical media anymore, other than my laptop, but my laptop can also stream stuff so there is that lol

          • Virgil the Ghost Poet

Thanks. I was hoping for a CD but I couldn’t find one.

    • Howard Dean

      Yes, you will be dead…

      …if you touch my stuff!

      http://blogs.tennessean.com/tunein/files/2010/08/John-Mellencamp.gif

      • KJM

Egad, you could play Squash on that guy’s forehead, fucking clown…

        • Janitor Jim Dvggan

I still think we should all try to get Brock Lesnar, Sid Vicious, New Jack, Abdullah The Butcher, Goldberg, Raven and Ahmed Johnson to teach Mellencamp a lesson. I would love to see him cower in fear at the sight of these seven people who have come to make him apologize to Tyree.

      • Tyree

Rain on the scarecrow, Mellencvnt’s Blood on my snow plow.

Guts on the road, Mellencvnt’s Blood on my snow plow

        • Janitor Jim Dvggan

Why don’t you just buy a snowplow and run Mellencamp over with it? That seems like a good way to make him apologize.

  • Edward Meehan

Inter Arma’s The Cavern is some BAOTY type shit, so different than Sky Burial and still so good.

    • Leif Bearikson

AGREED. I’m blown away seemingly every listen.

      • Edward Meehan

I was kinda expecting Sky Burial v. 2, boy was I way off lol

    • Black Album of the Year?

      • Edward Meehan

        Best Albums of the Year.

    • Virgil the Ghost Poet

I’m looking forward to this. This and Melvins are in the mail as my new Godflesh which I haven’t got it yet. Can’t wait.

    • Simon Phoenix

Took me forever to listen to it after it came out, but I really enjoyed Sky Burial. Is this record as good as that?

      • Edward Meehan

Hmmm. I’ve listened to it once and I found it to be outstanding. I also really enjoyed Sky Burial, I found The Cavern to be more accessible but I am hesitant to say if it is better quite yet. I was surprised by its sound but I thought it was awesome right away. Need moar listens ASAP

  • Scrimm

Good thing I have credit at the record store. Lot of stuff today.

    • Janitor Jim Dvggan

I wish I wasn’t broke. I would buy the Revocation and the Acacia Strain albums because they seem very good.

      • Scrimm

        I’ll skip those myself.

        • W.

I’ve got three albums in the mail. Sanctuary, Crawling Mountain Apogee, and OMAAF offered to send me their CD.

          • Scrimm

Nice. I may very well pick up that Sanctuary today as well.

  • Howard Dean

Ordered the new Horrendous on CD from Dark Descent over the weekend. That’s my pick for best thing released today (and there is a lot of good shit being released today!) It’s phenomenal. End-of-year-list worthy! Hail and Kill! Shout byah from the rooftops!

    • W.

I’ve seen a lot of buzz about that release, so I’m definitely checking it out.

      • Howard Dean

It’s really, really good. Better than their last album, which was very good. This is just on a whole new level. I know my villain-from-the-future Simon Phoenix was jazzed about it, too. They do the OSDM/Swedeath sound the right way.

        • Scrimm

I’m so lucky I can buy Dark Descent releases without waiting for the shipping. Definitely picking up Horrendous and Swallowed today.
Edit: they should have the new BAN too. I need that cover art.

          • Howard Dean

I preordered BAN direct from Debemur Morti as soon as the preorder was made available. It’s supposed to be on its way right now (coming from France, it could be awhile). I know Debemur Morti had an issue with the printing company (CDs and LPs took a few days longer than expected), so they only shipped them yesterday (they were supposed to go out the 10th).

          • Death

            Mine was shipped earlier today.

          • Howard Dean

I got that email from them, too. Hoping it doesn’t take too long!

          • Death

Still haven’t gotten the URL to track the delivery progress of my package.

          • Howard Dean

            Me neither.

          • Death

            But it’s worth the wait.

          • Scrimm

Son of a bitch I’ll probably strike out on that one then. I thought about preordering it but the store usually gets the new Debemur Morti releases.

          • Howard Dean

I’m sure they’ll have it. It’s such a big release. I bet DD preordered a bunch and will have them in stock.

          • Scrimm

Fingers crossed. I need some good new stuff to make up for fucking Hastings shipping me the wrong cd. Nu metal I most certainly did not order.

          • W.

            WTH?

Also, you have a Hastings? we have two here, but I think the chain is dying out.

          • Scrimm

There is one in Prescott, not here in Phoenix. I ordered from them through Amazon. Yes I was severely disappointed.

    • Nordling Rites Ov Karhu

Stay tuned for a little what’s what regarding that album (coming sooner than later, I hope)

    • Simon Phoenix

Indeed. Like I said on the FB page, it may actually top Promulgation of the Fall and Sinister Ceremonies as my death metal AOTY.

      • Howard Dean

It’s greater than I expected. Real good. Year end Top 10 list is going to be brutal.

  • HessianHunter

    NEW FUCKING KRUGER

    • Hey kid… want some power metal?

    • KJM

Occult Stoner Doom will take over the world, right after we smoke this bowl…

      • Howard Dean

Is Sleep going to record/release their new album this year? I remember some stirring about it earlier in the year, but haven’t heard anything new in months.

        • Nordling Rites Ov Karhu

          Most likely not me thinks

        • KJM

          I haven’t heard either.

        • W.

I wouldn’t expect it until next year.

          • KJM

Next year, right after they smoke this bowl…

          • Matt Pike’s Sweaty Left Nipple

            *cough cough* wut..?

          • Howard Dean

I can’t wait. Though 95% of the metal I consume is black and death metal, I have a few doom/sludge/stoner bands I follow closely. Sleep is one of them.

          • KJM

Saturnalia Temple should be one of them. They’re working on a new album for next year as well.

          • Howard Dean

I’ve always heard good things about them, and I’ve yet to check them out. Like I said, doom/sludge/stoner is a small niche for me, so I don’t purchase as much, but I will put them to the top of my list for new doom purchases.

          • KJM
          • Howard Dean

Will do. I really enjoy EPs.

          • KJM

‘UR’ and ‘Black Magic Metal’ are excellent too. ‘Impossiblum EP’ is the only potential flush in their catalog, but it’s just one new song and a cover so no big whoop.

        • RustyShackleford

Well they did that song that was an adult swim single but i don’t know if they’re doing a whole album? that song was pretty tight though so i would welcome an album haha

          • Nordling Rites Ov Karhu

I think they have mentioned making a new one.Just not for this year.

          • Howard Dean

I remember that. I was hoping it was going to be a teaser for the new album (maybe it is?). They announced they were working on new material for an album months ago, and I haven’t heard anything since.

          • RustyShackleford

Use your political powers, make it happen!

          • Howard Dean

I will try. My clout in the stoner/doom lobby has weakened in recent years, but I will send them a few Orange amps and a bushel of chronic and hope for the best!

          • KJM

Throw in a couple Gibson SGs, and you’ve got the vote locked. Byaaah!!

          • KJM

Agreed, great riffs on that tune.

        • Virgil the Ghost Poet

I thought they were going to but I’ve read that they are not recording a new CD, but Matt is recording a new High On Fire to be released in the spring.

          • Howard Dean

Damn, that will suck if they don’t record a new album! But new High on Fire is a nice consolation. Their last album was killer.

  • Matt Pike’s Sweaty Left Nipple

    New Inter Arma is fantastic.

  • If you need a fourth-tier Municipal Waste, Insanity Alert has got you covered.

    • Janitor Jim Dvggan

Fourth tier Municpal Waste clones? I love fourth tier bands from any genre. I love Pretty Boy Floyd and Apartment 26. I even love me some Hawthorne Heights because even though they were big when I was in middle school they were a fourth rate version of The Used. I am going to check out this band.

  • Death

I was weak and streamed the Kayo Dot album before I got the CD. I’m not disappointed at all.

    • Howard Dean

But are you disappointed in yourself?

      • Death

A little, yes. I have brought shame on my family!

        • Howard Dean
          • Nordling Rites Ov Karhu

            FAIL! FAIL! MORE SHAME!
A proper Samurai cannot allow the expression of pain to be visible on his face when committing a Seppuku

          • Howard Dean

That’s why I picked it. It’s extra shameful.

          • Nordling Rites Ov Karhu

            I see it…now

          • Death

Yes, that is what I was going for.

    • Janitor Jim Dvggan

I’m streaming the new Acacia Strain album. I would have never guessed an album from a band off Rise Records would be as good as this is.

      • Death

I took a listen and not really feeling them.

        • Janitor Jim Dvggan

The 27 minute jam at the end is the best jam I have ever heard from any band who calls themselves deathcore. It doesn’t even seem like a deathcore jam, it seems like a doom metal jam that really shreds.

  • Already got the new Acacia Strain album but totally forgot that the new Revocation and Starkill are out today as well, so I’ll pick those up when I get off work. This is a damn good week for teh metulz.

  • Nordling Rites Ov Karhu

    Today I’ll jam
Adfail (Those violins in dream of the astronaut!)
    Osmium Guillotine
    Lunatic Soul (Finally!)
    Perditio Winds
    and Wormwood

    • Howard Dean

Whenever I see the name Wormwood, this is what comes to mind:

      http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/0a/Marduk_wormwood.jpg

      • Nordling Rites Ov Karhu

I must admit I thought of this also and therefore checked it out. A little disappointed I am when they did not like Marduk sound, but not bad are they

        • Howard Dean

Wormwood might be my favorite Marduk album. Very Funeral Mist vibe to that one (I think they let Arioch/Mortuus write a lot of that album). I’m also partial to Heaven Shall Burn… When We Are Gathered. Different eras, different sounds…

          • Nordling Rites Ov Karhu

Am I alone in my dislike for their Blood, War, Death trilogy?
Wormwood and Serpent Sermon as well as TotU are much better me thinks.

          • Howard Dean

No, I think those albums are disliked by many (especially Panzer Division Marduk, which many view as the genesis of mindless Norsecore).

          • Nordling Rites Ov Karhu

Every Marduklover I know seems to hold those in the highest regard. I am glad the truth (…is out there) is different.

          • Howard Dean

Of the trilogy, I’ve seen the most love for Nightwing (that’s probably my favorite out of those three, too). But I’ve seen a lot of hate for those three albums. I think they’ve fallen out of vogue a bit in recent years.

          • Nordling Rites Ov Karhu

I’ll show you something. I’ll show you my not-sorry-at-all-face.

          • Matt Pike’s Sweaty Left Nipple

Nightwing >>> all other Marduk thus far.
My fave of the Mortuus era has to be Rom 5:12. Love the bass tone Devo uses.

        • Nordling Rites Ov Karhu

Suddenly a bad taste spreads throughout my taste buds.

      • Tyree

This album is really great! Saw Marduk on their Serpent Sermon tour.

  • Scrimm

Hahahahaha I don’t know what’s funnier the new Rings of Saturn or listening to new BAN on Soundcloud and seeing a Lollbutz in the comments.

    • MoshOff

I don’t get all the Rings of Saturn hate. They’re a great comedy act.

      • Matt Pike’s Sweaty Left Nipple

        Hilarious!

    • Janitor Jim Dvggan

The new Rings Of Saturn is probably more funny. They are so terrible yet the fact that they keep going just makes me laugh so hard.

    • Gurp

SOMEONE has to carry the weedly-weedly torch since Viraemia broke up.

      • At least those guys were (somewhat) listenable.

      • Janitor Jim Dvggan

Who is better to carry the weedly torch than the original weedly masters? Ladies and gentlemen here is the masters of the weedly and the inventor of the deedly, the only band that Steve Howe fits well with, please welcome Yes! In all seriousness this album is the epitome of the weedly and the deedly.

    • (that’s me)

      • Scrimm

HAHA I looked and saw that.

  • kapsberger

The new Rosetta is out today on Translation Loss, and it’s glorious.

    • Howard Dean
      • kapsberger

It’s true–after listening to the album just once, I now speak fluent Catalan.

    • YourLogicIsFlushed

Good call, they actually put this one on Spotify too. That will be next up after Coffins on IO, which is totally killing it in my ears right now.

      • W.

        Thanks for the Spotify tippy.

  • KJM

Occultation is nice, has a Mars Volta vibe at points.

  • Not on this list, and all somewhere between great to lolbuttz: Exodus, Furia, October 31, Sanctuary (W., how could you forget?), Arabot, Blast Off, Cara Neir/Venowl, Fleshworld/Gazers/Viscera///, Inconcessus Lux Lucis, Kreyskull, MoE, Mortifera, Progenie Terrestre Pura and Tarnkappe. Some of these are real flushers so I can’t blame you for leaving them off, but then again, Rings of Saturn is on the list…

    • Tyree

That Cara Neir/Venowl release is news to me. Killer! Thanks!

      https://venowl.bandcamp.com/album/cara-neir-venowl

    • W.

Christian, we listed Sanctuary last week. Today is just the US release. Stupid staggered release dates.

      • Bah! Flush those. I dunno how those are still a thing…

        • W.

If they want to prevent piracy, it seems extremely counter-intuitive. Even weirder, the album has been on Spotify since last Tuesday.

  • W.

Well, I still have the same beef I’ve always had with Revocation. I liked a few songs but got extremely bored as the album progressed.

    • Matt Pike’s Sweaty Left Nipple

I’ve actually never bought an album from them, but I will say that they are damn good live. Maybe one of those “better live than on record” bands. Idk, but they killed it at the Crowbar show.

      • W.

I’ve seen them live a couple times and agree with you.

    • Scrimm

      Once again we agree.

  • Fun fact: Occultation features E.M. on guitars, who is also the mastermind behind Negative Plane.

  • Nordling Rites Ov Karhu

I am very disappointed that no one remembered the new Calm Hatchery

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84zY33QZO5o

  • This came out today too
    http://alekhinesgun.bandcamp.com/

  • Simon Phoenix

Man Dark Descent (and their thrash oriented sub-label Unspeakable Axe) are killing it right now. Horrendous and Swallowed are some excellent jams. I want that new Menace Ruine too.

Also I didn’t know Depths of Hatred came out with a new record. I found myself actually liking the first album, mainly cause they sound like a second rate Beneath the Massacre.

One almost feels sorry for RoS having to compete against all the good shit released this week. Almost.

  • Spear

The Carnality stream posted above went down today for some reason. This one still works if anyone’s interested (and you should be): http://musicandriotsmagazine.com/?p=13245
