The great and mighty Mailmanbro returns this month, and he’s brought his cousin, Recordstorebro, with him.

WARNING: Colorful and non-Metal albums inside. Sorry, we can’t all be Tyree.

Last month our favorite former president brought us together in celebration of Mailmanbro, the ever present, ever vigilant bringer of parcels and packages. This month I would like to shine a light on his cousin, Recordstorebro.

You know him; the reserved figure that somehow always scores you the rare pressings of Scandinavian Black Metal you’ve never even heard of, the “business first” young gun that always has the latest releases a week in advance, the old hesher that talks for hours about the “good ‘ol days” and still out-moshes everyone in the pit, even the dorky looking guy that can recite every Napalm Death member in chronological order, and let us not forget the black nail polish goth chick that talks in Type O Negative lyrics. Whatever his or her incarnation is, the goods are always in stock, the tunes are always jamming, and the Top 5 lists are always being made.

I’ll start things off with my own haul

According to this, I am an old man that isn't allowed at family gatherings because I talk about my past accomplishments too much and never got out of my Wu-Tang phase.

Recordstoremanbro proved to everyone I am an old man that isn’t allowed at family gatherings because I talk about my past accomplishments too much and never got out of my Wu-Tang phase

Both Mailmanbro and Recordstorebro collaborated to bring me some classics I had negelected.

And here are the latest additions to some of our Toileteers’ never ending collections.

I now open the floor to you, my fellow toileteers, share your latest haul and perhaps even a tale about a Mailmanbro or Recordstorebro of your own.

  • COAL ROLL

    Bro

  • I’ve been trying to get with that Type O quoting goth chick for years…

  • <- hasn't ordered anything in the mail for a year

  • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Just got this bitch from ebay. 2004 split limited to 300 copies.
    http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Grenjar/Av_Eldre_Kunst_-_Stimmen_Aus_Der_Tiefe/45921

    • COAL ROLL

is the album title translate into english as “An Old Cunt?”

      • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

It fucking better, god damn it!

        • COAL ROLL

          excellent, bro

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

            Thanks, bro.

    • Hell of a pick-up dude.

      • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Lucky find. Right place, right time.

  • Bad Brains >>>>>>>>>
    Poor H.R. and Dr Know. : (

    • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

Bad Brains are so good, one of my favorite bands of all time.

    • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

Please, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease, 2016, don’t take Dr. Know!

      • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

        Don’t say stuff like that!

        • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

Considering the onslaught of the reaper against rock legends lately, I’m afraid!

      • I’d be more worried about H.R. They don’t call his condition “Suicide Syndrome” for nothing. I used to get bad migraines. They were so bad that I was reduced to a weeping ball of pain when I got them. Fortunately, quitting cigs seems to have stopped them.

        • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

Damn dude, glad to hear you’ve gotten better.

          • I’m glad to say that I don’t recall the last time I had a migraine.

          • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

            SOLID

        • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

What happened to him? Haven’t read anything about that one.

          • more beer

He is getting really bad headaches. They don’t know why and really have no treatment.

          • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

Yikes! Hoping he gets better. Sounds like an aneurysm waiting to happen. Stefan Ackerman (singer for Das Ich) said a while back that he was having those right before his brain hemorrhage.

          • It’s a recent thing. This is what he has.
            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trigeminal_neuralgia

          • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

Yikes! Read through the first part of the page, that’s gotta end up as something more serious. Hoping not, man, hoping not!

    • more beer

Horrible. I a not surprised Dr Know has crowd funded so much more than HR though. But it is a shame either has to crowd fund for medical services.

      • If I didn’t live in Massachusetts, I would be drowning in medical debt.

        • more beer

Thankfully I haven’t had a lot of health issues. I have insurance now. But I didn’t for a long time. I would have been screwed if I got really sick then.

  • I bought Wu-Massacre like the day it was released. Really bummed it was so brief.

    • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

I’ve read a lot of people dissing that album, but I thought it was really good. The production is excellent. And obviously the raps are killer

      • There are a handful of totally killer tracks. I was just disappointed by the total package.

        • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

Understandable. I really like the artwork and variant covers that came with the vinyl

    • COAL ROLL

I’m actually going to go to Record Store day to buy that Ol Dirty single

    • Def Jam forced them to make that album against their will. That might explain why it’s lacking and that the three of them do not appear on every track together.

    • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

I’m waiting for Martin Shkreli to get fucked royally and be forced to release Once Upon A Time In Shaolin.

      • If that ever does get released, I’ve got a feeling it’ll be Chinese Democracy-levels of disappointing

        • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

Or Unspoken King levels of disappointing.

        • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

          …unfortunately

        • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

*as JJD appears in a plume of smoke to defend Chinese Democracy*

          • more beer

Even he can’t defend that abortion.

          • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

It wasn’t bad, but yeah insanely overblown. Beats the fuck out of both Use Your Illusion CDs.

          • more beer

            Wasn’t good either.

          • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

Probably better than what the reunion shows are gonna be like.

        • Paddlin’ Rites ov Beargod

Most likely. But I must admit being amazed that still to this day, people are capable of building that amount of insane hype they all know cannot be met even if it was their best record.
Happens with a lot of bands, and I just don’t get how is it still possible.

      • more beer

I think the contract states he can’t release it.

        • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

Lol, that contract is the least of his worries right now. And considering what a rat bastard that redundant pile of amoeba shits is, and his feud with Ghostface Killa, I wouldn’t put it past him to put it out there out of spite.

          • more beer

Who knows the feds might seize it. Once they convict him. They will convict him. Once you flaunt shit in their faces. They make it a goal to convict. Think John Gotti. They will do the same to this POS.

          • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

Yep! Heard about 50 Cent’s idiocy lately?

          • more beer

He’s a dumb ass. He gets what he deserves.

        • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

For 88 years. But the Wu-Tang or Bill Murray are contractually allowed to plan a heist and steal the album back.

  • COAL ROLL

Mailmanbro took forever to deliver this dank mouse pad.

  • Sir Tapir The Based

Da Tapir got some nice thangs idag (featuring shitty ass picture quality)

    • Propagandhi? Nice, brah.

      • Sir Tapir The Based

They’re coming to Tapirtown this summer so decided to check them out. Pretty guud.

        • They put on an awesome show. LET’S DO A RECORD SWAP!

        • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

Haven’t heard them in ages. My friend that I moved to Illinois with was huge into them.

    • Rotten Souuuuuuund!!!

      • Sir Tapir The Based

        It fucking rules, man!!!

        • How’s it compare to the Species at War EP? I’ve been spinning that over and over the past couple weeks.

          • Sir Tapir The Based

I don’t think I’ve listened to SaW too many times. Not a big fan of EPs. The production on the new one is better.

          • Here’s my review: Rotten Sound gonna be Rotten Sound.

          • Fast, crushing, good tone, and breakdowns?

          • Paddlin’ Rites ov Beargod

And a few actual killer riffs too.

          • Those definitely help.

          • All of the above, yes!

          • Sir Tapir The Based

            And Rotten Sound is GOOOOOOOOOD

    • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

Second one down to the right: Is that Equilibrium?

      • Sir Tapir The Based

If you mean the one with the sun, that’s Art Bears.

  • Dave Vincent’s Perm

Mailmanbro helped me shred for Satan on Tuesday.

  • RJA

Stanley, did that new Fluisteraars come from overseas? or did you find and American distro with it?

  • Super jealous about that Kaevum vinyl Stanley. That album is so fucking good.

    • Stanley

I got lucky. There is a UK distro that has it and I picked it up when I went home to see ma and pa.

  • The last thing I got in the mail was a wireless repeater. Meh.

    • COAL ROLL

      does it dab bro?

  • COAL ROLL

All fans of Burzum(the music specifically) should check that white record in the top right of Stanley’s pic.

    • That’s a great album. Picked up a copy my self.

      • COAL ROLL

I’ve got my eye on it, but my impulse control for older records is almost non-existent, so they get the money first.

        • I hear ya man. Some majestic riffs on that album. Just an epically triumphant sounding black metal album.

          • COAL ROLL

it’s really the vox that induce expansion for me

          • Oldschool Varg vocals >>>>>>>>>>>

  • I use Digital Mailmanbro because he’s faster and I have no space for physical media. You have procured yourself some fine Wu-Tang albums there Ross!

    • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

Digitalmailmanbro helps me get albums that Mailmanbro and Recordstorebro can’t find.

Thanks! It’s a big collection to obtain, so one piece at a time.

      • I also use Merch Tablebro when I grab a shirt from a show.

    • Space is at a premium in my “house” too.

  • I think I speak for all of us.

You sir, are likely the only bro in the world that is worth speaking of 🙂

    GL

    https://i.imgflip.com/111zdv.jpg

    • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

GL, you always speak for all of us.

  • We don’t have mailmanbros over here. So I will just shut up, share this Hypocrisy song I’m listening and go to eat my dinner.

Cheers!! There are excellent hauls in every image.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxEim1Li6ZY

    • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

You can share recent digital stuff too, Link.

      • Neither those. I don’t have access to dollars so I can’t buy on Bandcamp, iTunes or Google Music.

    • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

4th Dimension is one of the first death metal CDs I got into, actually, back in ’96.

      • FrankWhiteKingOfNY

        I still think that

Final Chapter >>>>>>>>>>>>>> all other Hypocrisy albums

        • Haven’t listened that one. Need to check it out.

          • FrankWhiteKingOfNY

I think it’s definitely their most sinister sounding album.

        • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

          Good one!

  • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

Tossing the booze away for a while and pretty close to quitting smoking, so that’ll clear up my budget for some mailman haul. First things I’m wanting to order next week is a Persona t-shirt:

    https://f1.bcbits.com/img/0006864235_36.jpg

And a few other goodies I’m thinking about.

    • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

      You can do it!

      • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

Outside of the time around my birthday, my drinking has been getting smaller and smaller, so it’s not going to be difficult. Even when I’m drinking, though, I’ve been down to about 3-4 cigs a day, so that’s not going to be hard either.

    • COAL ROLL

quitting smoking was one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. Over 10 years smoke free now. Good Luck!

      • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

I quit for 11 1/2 years (kinda sad how I remember when I quit, which was 9/9/01), and started up again when I quit my fifth a day routine years ago. Doesn’t seem like it’ll be as difficult this time around.

        • COAL ROLL

I used the patch and never smoked again after the very first one I put on.

          • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

I simply kept myself busy as fuck, and drank tons of orange juice (vitamin C washes nicotine out of your system in record time) for 2 days and went from there.

          • COAL ROLL

Sounds like you have a formula for success in place

          • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

Yep yep. Biggest pain in the ass about that whole plan will be going without my usual load of coffee for a few days.

          • I don’t even think they had patches when I quit. My herb use went up for a bit, but went back down eventually.

      • 19 years in July.

      • Guppusmaximus

24 years without ’em though I only smoked for like 3 years – I was a stupid teenager. Quit MaryJane the same year and lost most of my “friends”. Quit drinking in 2008. Some of the best decisions I’ve ever made m/ m/

        • COAL ROLL

and these decisions have led us here, in this locker full of nerds.

        • MaryJane has been a stellar substitute for booze for me.

          • Guppusmaximus

No doubt. Neither are for me anymore. It’s 4:20 somewhere in the world (it’s 2:40 here) LOL

          • so do you just relax w/o chemical intervention? THAT is a skill! huehue

          • Guppusmaximus

I dunno, I just haven’t tried to escape in so long that I’ve learned how to relax without ’em. It’s not like I gave up sex or anything:)

          • Sir Tapir The Based

            It’s fucking easy, man.

          • …coming from you… 😉

          • Sir Tapir The Based

            The fuck you >implying?

          • (i’m not being overtly serious here BTW…)
was giving you a hard time cause your comments are often negative

          • Sir Tapir The Based

            Me? Negative? The fuck?

          • you know by now, that i’m not going to pull a 180 and be genuinely mean, right?

          • Sir Tapir The Based

I wouldn’t be surprised of you did that.

  • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

    Recordstorebro also provided these.

    • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

      That Vio-Lence original?

      • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

I have failed you this month. It is the WaxManiax repress.

        • I remember Hells Headbangers advertising the repress.

          • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

It was on sale at the record store and really hard to pass up.

          • I don’t blame you Boss!

        • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Oh well. So it goes, bro.

      • Stanley

This is. And the sick bag.

        • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

          Nice, Stanley!

  • Pentagram Sam

Mailmanbro has been good to me lately! 3 Perturbator cds came in last week, hopefully 3 more this week or next, and the Carpenter Brut Trilogy 3cd digipak any day now! Hails to mailmanbro, the deliverer of the goods!

    • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

      Carpenter Brut, nice!

      • Pentagram Sam

For reals man, I have been jamming straight synthwave for the past couple weeks. A friend introduced me to this a year ago but I just barely dabbled in it. Now I’ve gone full synthwave rider and am exploring the world. Also Digitalmailmanbro hooked it up thru bandcamp on Dance With The Dead’s Near Dark and Miami Nights 1984 “Early Summer.” After the double payday, I’ll prob download Noir Deco from cdbaby and hook Mr. GosT man up on bandcamp. I know he has a “name your price” but I wanna at least do 6 bucks a pop for his EP’s.

Also need to get learning Fruity Loops for something but saving that for Flush It Friday Good news.

        • I’ve been listening to Dance With the Dead at work recently, absolutely love the tracks they decide to use guitar on.

          • CyberneticOrganism

Same, excellent use of guitar with those guys.

            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Dw8uzg2Uj0

          • Pentagram Sam

Oh yea most def man. I think the whole futuristic vibe of Perturbator appeals to something deep in me, BUT I absolutely dig the hell out of how Dance With The Dead incorporate guitars. I think in an interview they said they even play live with a live guitarist and that’s cool as hell. I think it’s just crazy how metalheads have found a way to express themselves through an outlet that isn’t “metal” in the traditional sense, but their love of metal and the aesthetics come thru in the vibes and moods of the synths.

          • It’s crazy how synthwave just seems to the almost universally accepted alternate interest among metalheads. Must be the 80’s veneration almost built-in among the metal fandom. Pretty sure synthwave consists almost entirely of metalheads and Hotline Miami fans.

          • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

Most of the artists are really passionate about their work and there is a lot of complexiety and heaviness involved. 3 things metalheads love.

          • i fall under both categories. but also, many metalheads probably grew up watching 80’s action films with synthwave soundtracks

        • CyberneticOrganism

You excited for that next John Carpenter album?

          • Pentagram Sam

Absolutely! Thanks to the Toilet for putting it on the radar. If I’m back in Austin by then, planning a trek on over to Dallas to catch the John Carpenter show with an old friend. I know he’s playing ACL too, but it might be a more intimate show in the theater in Dallas

        • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls
    • Perturbator >>>>>>

    • Hell yes! Been listening to those guys (and synthwave in general) a LOT over the last few months.

    • CyberneticOrganism

      Synthwave >>>>>>>>

  • Stanley

    This thread needs some music.

    • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

      That album cover is phenomenal

      • Stanley

That’s one word for it. Bad is another one.

        • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

          Those are my favorite kind!

        • There is nothing bad about that.

      • Reminds me of the band photos in Sextrash’s Sexual Carnage album.

    • CyberneticOrganism

      old school

      • Stanley

        It’s a good school.

    • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

This sounds so old. Love it.

  • COAL ROLL

    Recordstorebro helped me find Satan

  • CyberneticOrganism

Just bought a bunch of strings.

    • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

      62?

      • CyberneticOrganism

Nice & thick to drop down with. Drop it so low, my thickness can handle it.

        • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

          6 or 7 string?

          • COAL ROLL

            Circumference Boss

          • COAL ROLL

            Girth, expansion

          • CyberneticOrganism

            Seven

          • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

Okay, I usually play thick gauges, but my fingers were aching just thinking about 62

          • I recently discovered that down tuning means having to use extra pressure which means more pain(at least with the strings I have). : (

          • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

            What strings are you using?

  • Sight Vnseen

My recordstorebro and mailmanbro are the same guy. I buy a couple albums and order a couple more, which means I have to go back to pick them up.

    It’s a vicious cycle.

  • Crab Nicholson

Six patches in varying shades ov false

  • Stanley

    Record store haul circa 1988.

  • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

I get everything digital, so not much any mail around my way. Sadly, my CD collection is still collecting dust over in a box at the corner of my room.

    • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

      Send it to me..

      • Lisa Ling: Devourer Of Souls

Well, if you’re into mostly industrial and synthpop, there’s most of my Cd collection in a nutshell. Some metal in there, but since I went to digital formats, it’s gone the whole other direction.

  • Waynecro

    Cool shit, cool shit everywhere!

  • Waynecro

DUDES! I just got this from Kickstarter:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBXy0fge2wE

    • JWEG

Just barely beat me to it.

I don’t really like how YouTube’s default site mode now is to automatically play something (wildly tenuously) “related” next. I actually don’t care to see the Civil War trailer tacked on to the hundredth YouTube video I’ve watched this week, thanks.

      • Waynecro

Seriously. I just want this song to loop for, like, an hour.

      • Paddlin’ Rites ov Beargod

Turn it off once and it’ll stay off, lest you do the deletion of the most hallowed cookies.

        • Waynecro

          Literal cookies >>>>>>>>>>>>

        • JWEG

I’ll put it on the list of site exceptions for cache cleanup and see if that resolves the issue. Logically, it should…

    • Old Man Doom

Klendathu: an ugly planet. A bug planet.

  • Vegglampe

Sent my pic in too late. Most of this (excluding Tool, Mgła, Windir and Graveyard) is merchguybro providing the fix.

    • i don’t know who you are on FB. send me a PM on there (if you know who i am)

      • Vegglampe

        Do believe so, and done.

  • sweetooth0

Gah, my handle hath been butchererered. Ha ha ha!

    • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

      FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!

      I’m so sorry!

      • sweetooth0

it’s all good, I’m sure people realize who it is. The only clown with a sweet tooth around these parts I think. 🙂

        • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

I don’t even have a good excuse as to why I messed that up.
Thanks for being cool with it and sending the pictures.

  • CT-12

For some reason, I can’t upload a picture, so I’m gonna have to list off everything since I still feel the need to be an egotistical swine. • Phoenix of the House Tendies

Supreme Clientele remains my favorite Ghostface album. Good catch.

    • Boss the “Hoss” Ross

Thanks man. I do like Iron Man quite a bit, i don’t know which one i like better.
