  • Challenge: count how many times Martin Van Drunen says “cheers” in the Asphyx set

  • CyberneticOrganism
    • DURRR-AH-AH-AH-AHHH!

      • How does he eat with those things

        • Abradolf Lincler

          liquid diet

        • Mother Shabubu

He doesn’t eat physical foods, he sinks his chin rings into his prey and sucks the sickness from them. He’s like a Dementor in that aspect.

    • I’d like to believe he’s wearing overalls here. AHM JESS A SIMPLE MAN. AH LIKE TRUCKS, TRAINS, COMPLICATED FACIAL PIERCINGS AND UH HAYTE THAT GOT-DAMN OBAMA.

      • CyberneticOrganism

OBAMA IS THE SICKNESS WAKE UP SHEEPLE #CHEMTRAILS

        • OBAMA IS THE REASON WHY MY STOMACH DOSN’T WORK.

          • Any new word from your doctor bro?

          • Today man. Should hear back from my doctor during lunch time about my Gastric Emptying Scan. Thanks for the concern man.

          • Dubbbz

Did your poop glow green from the egg?

          • Haha, not yet. The diet I’m on has me all sorts of constipated. Pooping is difficult for ol Tyree these days. I fear Hemorrhoids!

          • Dubbbz

:/ Hopefully the docs get you straightened out soon.

          • Hear! Hear! Doc.

          • Grandpa’s Magic Fleshlight

Hoping all goes well, and hopefully you’ll be well soon. We need ya back to blastin’!

      • lol @trains

  • CyberneticOrganism

This is awesome by the way, great idea 365.

  • I’m all over those Aura Noir, Asphyx, and Archgoat sets tonight. Rad!

  • Eliza

Thank you for putting this together!

  • Joaquin Stick

Hahahaha, so I was going to watch the Korn one, just out of morbid curiosity, and was actually surprised how not terrible they sound… but then at 3:35 the drummer tries to do a showoff stick flip and drops it. Perfect.

    • Showoff stick flip <<<<<<<<<<<

    • Joaquin Stick

Hahaha and another one at 7:45!!! This guy just can’t seem to catch a break… I mean stick.

      • Abradolf Lincler

maybe he just really didnt like those sticks.

or a game of hot potato . . . stick

    • brokensnow

Ray Luzier is one of the best live rock drummers ive ever seen.

    • Owlswald

Man, they sound horrible. I’m not going to lie, I played the grooves off of their S/T record when it came out but Korn is one of those bands that just won’t go away but really need to go away.

      • Grandpa’s Magic Fleshlight

Good luck on that. I remember seeing the ‘Blind’ video back in ’95, thinking “meh”, and here we are. Even back when I was 14, I thought it was bland as fuck.

      • the members of Korn simply have to acknowledge to themselves that though the music still sells, only 90’s throwback people dig it

  • Stanley

The crowds in the introductory shots are definitely a place that I would not want to be.

    • Abradolf Lincler

lol, im with you here Stan

  • Janitor Jim Duggan

    Yay, Korn and Ghost!

    • DOWNVOTED

    • Joaquin Stick

I can’t say I am a big fan of Korn, but Davis looks like he’s having a good time playing the hits, and I gotta give him props for that.

    • Guppusmaximus

I always heard how great Ghost is in concert. This footage did them no justice, imho. Oddly enough, for all the hate Korn receives they put on a better show.

      • I saw Ghost live before, I was unimpressed. The costumes are cool, that’s about it, no energy at all.

        • Joaquin Stick

The whole “I’m the Pope and move slowly with powerful hand gestures” shtick only goes so far. Voice sounds pretty not great too. I don’t get it.

        • Guppusmaximus

Makes sense. Not to hate on Ghost but their albums always seem by-the-numbers, kinda lacking passion and/ or power and don’t get me started on the singer..*ugh*

          • Grandpa’s Magic Fleshlight

Their albums are awesome, but watching their live videos, it doesn’t translate into a real live show, or at least not as big as they try to make it. I’ve seen plenty of bands I like that put on horrible performances. Worst band I’ve seen live (love their albums though):

            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nDAU2xHzF4

Imagine that without the flashy lights, and the singer just as wooden and stiff, and the keyboardist bored out of his mind.

          • Guppusmaximus

True, but to me, if the soundboard tech knows his shit, a proper live video is usually is a pretty good indicator. Maybe these guys don’t have enough large venue experience yet. However, I guess we’ll have to disagree about their albums (I’m King Diamond biased), so, I probably won’t ever be motivated to see them in a live setting. Just my .02

          • Grandpa’s Magic Fleshlight

They were one of Germany’s all time biggest bands, so they definitely had experience playing much larger venues. They’re just wooden as fuck live.

          • Guppusmaximus

Sorry.. I was talking about Ghost. Still need to watch the Wolfsheim video you posted.

          • Grandpa’s Magic Fleshlight

Oh, my goof, I was talking about Wolfsheim! Stick with their albums, which are awesome (especially Spectators). The live stuff is um, scheize. :-p

        • sweetooth0

Much better in an inside show with the full stage setup and lights and shit. Plus most bands tend to sound kinda shit at fests compared to seeing them on an actual show of their own. More time for setup and all that.

    • Grandpa’s Magic Fleshlight

My roomies went to a fest over here, and missed Ghost. They went on 30 minutes into the whole thing, and were apparently at the bottom of the bill. Five Finger Death Punch was at the top of the bill, which is no surprise considering this is a military area. Glad I missed out on the whole thing. Unveiling The Truth, Shinedown and P.O.D were higher up on the bill than Ghost, for fuck’s sake!

  • Stanley

    Enslaved 33:30.

    • CAVEMAN GORAK™

      RETURN TO YGGDRASIL!!!!!

      • Stanley

        Their best “modern day” tune.

        • Owlswald

The Crossing is such a sick song. I need to listen to Below of the Lights again.

          • Stanley

You do. This tune is off Isa, though. 🙂

        • CAVEMAN GORAK™

          ALSO GIANTS!!!!!!

  • Abradolf Lincler

Man, seems like Hellfest is one big mixed bag. Good to see Amon Amarth playing the same set 10 years later (they still kill it live)

  • Guppusmaximus

    Full Live Sets From Hellfest
with a special P-Diddy whole set remix of Dropkick Murphy in Super-Low SD quality

    Don’t miss out!

  • Enslaved must have been on cough syrup, they forgot to include “Veilburner” or “Roots of the Mountain” in their set

  • Grandpa’s Magic Fleshlight

Moonsorrow, Primordial, Asphyx, Grand Magus, and Insomnium = FUCK YEAH!!!!

Korn and Disturbed = I know that, as a festival, they had to have some big names in there, but GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! David Draiman was probably having a royal fit with all the cell phones in there. I hope someone crammed a selfie stick in his face and clanged his mouth piercings.

    • CyberneticOrganism

      The Moonsorrow set is fantastic

      • Grandpa’s Magic Fleshlight

Saw them years back, and they put on an amazing live show.

        • CyberneticOrganism

I bet, makes me wish I could have seen this set live.

          • Grandpa’s Magic Fleshlight

And Finntroll was the headliner, with Swallow The Sun as the opener. Twas a roaring feast, and I was drunker than a poet on payday. Somehow, I made it back home.

    • Hans Müller

Went to see Korn once when I was 16 or so. Didn’t know who was opening for them till I got there, found out it was Static X, was stoked af. Simpler times. those were…

  • CyberneticOrganism

This Taake set is also badass
