Today I am pleased as punch to bring you a rrrrrrrippin’ new track from the deranged mind of Wombbath’s Jonny Pettersson. If you’re in the mood for a good ol’ fashioned drawing and quartering courtesy of some superb crust-infused death metal, prepare thine buttocks for Henry Kane’s “En grav av ångest.”

Astute fans may note that Henry Kane is christened after the insane specter of a corrupt preacher from horror classic Poltergeist II. The namesake is certainly apt, as both tracks released so far from Den Förstörda Människans Rike are absolutely profane, unhinged, and malicious. Before you press play on our special premiere below, navigate over to Henry Kane’s Bandcamp page (or just stab play below) to hear the delightfully perverse “Skuld och begär.”

From the moment you press play on “Skuld och begär,” it’s immediately evident that Pettersson is taking his panache for ghoulish snarls and ballsy bass in Wombbath and cranking everything up to 11. Perhaps most surprising to fans of the ‘Bath though is that Pettersson plays all of the instruments on Den Förstörda Människans Rike. So those unrepentant d-beats, gravelly chugs, and necrotic, HM-2-gluttonous riffs heard on our exclusive premiere, “En grav av ångest” are all Pettersson, baby.

Interestingly, while “Skuld och begär” was a ramshackle blend of grind and death metal, “En grav av ångest” is all death. It loses a bit of the unpredictability of the previous track, but it does show just how violent Henry Kane can be when Pettersson locks into a groove. Clearly these songs boast that Den Förstörda Människans Rike is far more than a simple deathgrind album and offers riffs in spades.

Look, I’m not gonna over-intellectualize this. The bone-churning riffs are absolutely sick. Those blasts and d-beats are utterly gut-wrenching, and the cannibalistic growls and shrieks portend a coming apocalypse of flesh-eating cenobites. This is death metal with a ravenous penchant for grind; it’s raw, wriggling, and utterly riveting, and even if you don’t have a pulse, you’re certain to be headbanging and moshing like a headless specter.

Den Förstörda Människans Rike dops on February 20th via Transcending Obscurity. You can pre-order the album on Bandcamp or via Transcending Obscurity here. Stay up to date with Henry Kane and TO here and here.
