Listen to a new track from the long-awaited The Great Destroyer by Swedish grindcore warriors Gadget.
If you’re familiar with Gadget, you’ve likely already jumped past my stupid description to smash that play button on the track below. If you’re not hip to these grinding Swedes, lemme learn you: After a couple of well-received demos, Gadget released 2004’s Remote, an album of brutal, face-to-the-grind grindcore. In 2006 they upped the ante with The Funeral March by adding additional elements of death metal and becoming even heavier in the process. It’s been ten long years since The Funeral March, but now Gadget is back and ready to shred your skull with The Great Destroyer.
The band has been on a blitzkrieg through the entire metal blogosphere by premiering at Noisey, MetalSucks, Metal Injection, No Clean Singing, Decibel, Cvlt Nation, Heavy Blog is Heavy, and finally, our humble toilet-themed metal blog. I’m proud as all hell to premiere “Svart Hål”, the penultimate track on The Great Destroyer, here at Toilet ov Hell.
Svart Hål (“Black Hole” translated to English, or “Calabozo” translated to Spanish, or “Dungeon” Google-translated back to English), is a hellacious burner of a tune that will thrill fans of Relapse grind-vets Nasum and Pig Destroyer with its zero-to-60 speed, throat-shredding vocals, and irresponsible intensity. With a length of juuuuust over a minute, you’ll want to replay this track over and over.
