Get a radical album download and help out the Oregon Humane Society.

Sad news from the Seventh Rule Recordings camp. The label responsible for putting out records from Sweet Cobra, Indian, Author & Punisher, recently lost their beloved pup Wilson. It’s terrible to lose an old friend, but Seventh Rule is making the most of a bad situation. For the next month, the label is offering name-your-own-price downloads on their Bandcamp page with all proceeds going to help out the Oregon Humane Society.

Knowing literally nothing about Wilson aside from his picture above, I think we can all agree that Wilson was a very good boy. A very good boy, yes he was, yes he was. To honor his memory, pick up a record and donate a few dollars to a good cause. Get down on some hideous sludge courtesy Lord Mantis’ Spawning the Nephilim or hammer away at cold industrial with Author & Punisher’s Women & Children.

See all of the albums here and give Seventh Rule Recordings a like on Facebook.

    RIP Wilson.

  • Saving animals and listening to metal. I think that’s something we can get behind.

    • Dagon

      Cant really beat that.

  • Dubs

That Batillus album is pretty good if you like Godflesh.

  • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

I’m still in the midst of raising my first rescue. And it’s the best damn dog I’ve ever been around.

    • Dubs

I think if most folks took care of mutts/rescue dogs, it would go a long way to counteracting the terrible effect of competitive dog breeding.

      • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

I agree. But the biggest problem surrounding that (like most things) is humans. I plan on taking in and raising rescues until the day I die. No offense against puppies. But you can really tell how much they appreciate it, especially if they’ve been in a bad situation, like the pup I own.

        • Dubs

That’s rad. When my wife and I move for residency, I’m probably going to adopt a resuce.

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

Nice. Just make sure you know the breed. I’ve been around the breed I rescued since I was a small child.

          • Dubs

            Thanks for the advice!

          • King Shit of Fuck Mountain

            Sure thing dude!

      • Stockhausen

Dog breeding in general is a messed up thing. It would be interesting to see what dogs we would have if people had done that to a much more reasonable extent (AKA not creating breeds with built in suffering for their existence).

        • Air Raid From The Top Bunk

We could always euthanize the people who breed dogs for fighting. There’s a start, rather than euthanizing the pets (which happens far too often).

      • Air Raid From The Top Bunk

Speaking of, Michael Vick of all people is doing ads around here about leaving dogs in hot, unattended cars. Yes, THAT Michael Vick.

    • Same here. She’s the first dog I’ve ever had, got her about a year ago. It’s incredible seeing the difference in her personality from when I first got her until now.

      • i still like your FB post about how she’s the weirdest dog you’ve ever met

    • Waynecro

My dog is a rescue as well, and he’s the best pal I’ve ever had.

    • Elizabeth Short

All of my pets I’ve had (down to one dog and one cat right now) have been adoptions or rescues and they’ve all been phenomenally resilient, loyal, grateful, and happy animals. I one million percent support this cause (shut up, math nazis) and a bunch of other animal charities (and humans, too) because have to balance out the void somehow. Don’t tell anyone.

A friend of mine just did a benefit like this in October. For a rescue dog place he volunteers at. They raised $1000 and got 7 or 8 dogs adopted. He will be doing it again next year. Definitely a good cause.

We got a foot of snow yesterday. It has my work backing up. Which means I will have to work over the weekend. Which does not bring me any joy.

          • KJM, Shake Zula

I still haven’t taken my Winter jacket out of the closet and, more than likely, it’ll be 65F on Christmas Day here.

            Not in Colorado.

          • KJM, Shake Zula

At the very least, El Nino is real here.

          • more beer

El Nino isn’t going to get into full swing until the end of January. I get a feeling I am going to be shoveling a lot of snow.

          • KJM, Shake Zula

I remember sometime in the 90s we had an El Nino year. It was really mild. I hope we get that rather than a repeat of last Winter. I ended up with Tendonitis for a month because of that weather.

          • BLACKBEARD UNFILTERED

I get the feeling we’ll get two months of harsh winter then straight back to summer.

Next year one month of winter.

Year after, one day of winter.

Then 15 years of 100 degrees year round

Then, afterthe conveyor belt is sufficiently fucked, fimbulvinter

          • more beer

We get winter every year here. I just make sure I am stocked up on herb and beer so I don’t have to go out to often.

          • KJM, Shake Zula

Living in a busy urban center means that the beer, herb, and pizza is always easy to get. Even after the worst storms the streets most of the sidewalks get cleared within 1-2 days.

          • more beer

It is pretty urban where I am. I would just rather not go out when it is freezing outside.

          • KJM, Shake Zula

If I had a strong right arm, I could throw a rock from my bedroom and hit the pub where one of my “grocers” hangs out every day no matter what. He doesn’t like drinking at home and weather doesn’t matter to him. He’s a tough old guy(about 65-70 years old).

          • more beer

Remember I work outside. I am cold often enough in the winter time. That I avoid being cold if it is at all possible.

          • KJM, Shake Zula

Yep, I’m the exact opposite. I tinker with PCs and help people study for exams.

          • Air Raid From The Top Bunk

I don’t believe in it, and it’s been debunked countless times. Now accelerated climate change? Oh, yeah, that’s definitely real!

          • Lacertilian

            Exhibit B

          • Air Raid From The Top Bunk

Exhibit B as to what, pray tell?

          • more beer

This probably the 5th time it has snowed here already.

          • KJM, Shake Zula

We had a dusting sometime back in November, more like excessive frost than snow.

          • more beer

I don’t think we even got frost before we got snow.

          • Air Raid From The Top Bunk

It’s still around 70 over here, with 80% and up humidity. Winter doesn’t really start over here until January.

          • more beer

We usually get a storm in November. But typically it hasn’t snowed 5 times by the middle of December. Usually our snow comes later in the winter. Unless you live in the mountains. Then you get pummeled from November until May.

          • Air Raid From The Top Bunk

Sounds about like Chicago weather. One of several reasons I’m thankful that I got out! I haven’t checked to see what the weather’s like there right now, but more than sure it’s probably in the single digits.

          • more beer

It usually warms up during the day here. So the snow melts. Today it will go up to scorching 31 degrees. But it will be almost 50 by Friday.

          • KJM, Shake Zula

Used to be we’d start getting snow as early as November. That never happens here now except for the freak October blizzard back in 2011. Even then it was 60F 2 days later on Halloween.

          • Air Raid From The Top Bunk

2011 = GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! Second worst blizzard in Chicago history. I was bunkered in my house for almost an entire week. Thankfully I had all my essentials stocked up (food, weed, booze).

          • KJM, Shake Zula

Funny thing is, the rest of the season that year was nothing.

          • Air Raid From The Top Bunk

The winter was short as hell in late 2011 and ended in February 2012. Guess what that meant? If you guessed gangs enjoying the early spring and shooting up people, you guessed correctly!

          • KJM, Shake Zula

They’re not gangs, they’re “open carry patriots”!!!

          • more beer

In 96 New York got between a foot and two feet of snow every day for about two months. That winter sucked. Glad I was laid off and collecting unemployment. Because the job I had then I would have been doing snow removal everyday. Instead I spent it in the dive bar down the street from my house.

          • KJM, Shake Zula

The only time Luna has encountered another cat while living here was a bad experience for her. Otherwise I’d totally get her a younger cat to pal around with.

      • Air Raid From The Top Bunk

TV. How on Earth would it look like a microwave?!?! And why would it be that big, unless I’m microwaving hippos or something?

        • ‘Twas a joke about the oldness and bigness of the old-ass big-ass tv.

Couple of years ago I saved non-pedigree dog from dying of hypothermia. It was early spring, temperature was residing near zero Celsius mark. I went to my workshop early in the morning as suddenly heard whiny sounds.

    — Awwww… Awwww…

I couldn’t find whether the sound comes from. For 10 minutes or so I was seeking the source and finally found it after climbing the fence. She fell into flooded outdoors firefighter’s pool. Walls of it were too high to get over. Water was blazingly cold, hard to say for how long she was swimming there. I took a try to catch her with my arms outstretched but she feared. After several attempts she saw I’ve no intentions to hurt and found the way out the water. She lost almost all her energy and barely could walk. Several days after I saw the dog again, she was fine.
